Kody Brown is looking at the positive side of a difficult experience.
While it was rumored that the reality star ran into some issues with his costars on season four of Special Forces: World's Toughest Test—which premieres on Fox Sept. 25—the Sister Wives star had nothing but praise for his cast.
“Nothing but love for all the cast members,” Kody told E! News in an exclusive interview at a Special Forces red carpet event Sept. 9, adding, “For the rest of our lives.” (For more from the interview with the Special Forces cast, tune into E! News tonight, Sept. 11, at 11 p.m.)
Fellow Special Forces costar Johnny Manziel, who joined Kody for the interview, echoed the sentiment, joking that everyone on the show had trauma bonded through the grueling ordeals they’d gone through.
“When you see people that you’ve done something like this with, it’s always a smile,” the former NFL quarterback explained. “You always have a shared respect of how hard it was and what you went through.”
And for Kody it was an especially difficult situation to be in.
“They’re finding your weakness. And they’re pushing you on your weakness,” the 56-year-old said. “And they found me in an emotional weakness and they found me in a mental weakness.”
Kody added, “It felt like it broke me. It was humiliating in such a way that I came home feeling just humble.”
But in a roundabout way, Kody—who shares 18 children with wife Robyn Brown and exes Meri Brown, Christine Brown and Janelle Brown—found that the “constant humiliation” actually gave him a “better life” post-Special Forces.
“There’s a humility that makes the rest of your life sweet,” he explained. “I’ve felt good ever since it was over.”
And despite the hardships, both Kody and Johnny would say yes to another season in a heartbeat.
“I would love to do it again and have them hit me again in all the places they hit me with another group and have that same experience,” Kody said. “I would do it.”
But the TLC star joked, “Please do it before I turn 60.”
