Watch: Emmys 2025: Colman Domingo Clarifies His Reaction to Jeff Hiller Win

Colman Domingo is sing sing-ing his praises to an underrated comedian.

After Jeff Hiller nabbed the award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series at the 2025 Emmy Awards on Sept. 14, the 55-year-old—who was nominated for his role in The Four Seasons—clarified his sweet reaction to the fellow actor’s win.

“Actually we all are reacting lovingly to our colleague, who we know deserves so many flowers,” Colman replied to a fan’s post on X that pointed out his expression. “He is a gem. Bravo Jeff!”

Indeed, the Euphoria star was ecstatic to see Jeff, 49, take home the gold for his performance in HBO Max’s Somebody Somewhere. As Jeff’s name was announced, Colman happily gasped and cheered him on. Bowen Yang and Michael Urie—who were also featured in the category for their work on Saturday Night Live and Apple TV+’s Shrinking, respectively—shared a similar proud reaction, their mouths dropping in surprise before they applauded him.

And as Jeff walked towards the stage to collect his trophy, the cameras showed another angle of Bowen and Michael holding their faces in awe. (Other nominees Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Harrison Ford, and Ike Barinholtz also excitedly smiled at his achievement.)

Though all their reactions were heartfelt, Jeff’s emotional speech deserved a separate award. After all, this was the actor’s first Emmy nomination and win.

“I feel like I’m gonna cry because for the past 25 years, I’ve been like, ‘World, I wanna be an actor,’ and the world’s like, ‘Maybe computers,’” he told the audience at Los Angeles’ Peacock Theater. “I just want to say thank you to HBO for putting a show about sweaty middle-aged people on the same network as the sexy teens of Euphoria.

Jeff—who starred as Joel in the HBO Max series’ third and final season—went on to thank several people who supported him on this journey, including his husband Neil Goldberg and Somebody Somewhere costar Bridget Everett

“Thank you to my sweet husband and family for never laughing at me,” he continued, holding back his tears. “And most of all, thank you Bridget Everett. You changed my life, and you told so many people to believe in themselves, and they do.”
