Christian McCaffrey just scored a major pay day.
The San Francisco 49ers running back signed a two-year extension through to the 2027 season, the NFL team announced on June 4.
"Two years ago, we were ecstatic to welcome Christian McCaffrey to the 49ers," John Lynch, the president of football operations and general manager of the 49ers, said in a statement. "Since his arrival, he's been everything we thought he would be and more. His versatile skillset has been a seamless fit within our offense. His professionalism and work ethic are as exemplary as I've seen since I've been associated with the NFL."
He added, "We look forward to working with Christian for many years to come."
The 27-year-old agreed to an extension worth $19 million per year, totaling to $38 million, according to the NFL Network.
The deal comes four months after Christian and his teammates faced off against the Kansas City Chiefs at the 2024 Super Bowl. The 49ers were ultimately defeated in a 22-25 overtime game.
Still, 2024 is looking to be a big year for Christian. After all, the athlete is set to tie the knot with Olivia Culpo—who he's been engaged to since April 2023—this summer.
"It's going to be really over the top," Olivia told E! News in August of the couple's upcoming nuptials, "but it's also about getting married and love."
The Culpo Sisters star added that they opted for a summer wedding because Christian "really do work all year."
"Their season ends like January or February and then they go back to camp in July," Olivia explained. "So there's only, genuinely, only a few weeks where we can actually make it work. Otherwise, it wouldn't be a time where he could really take off."
