Martha Stewart didn’t stir the pot with her latest confession.
After the lifestyle enthusiast revealed she had an affair while married to ex Andy Stewart—whom she divorced in 1990—in a preview for her new Netflix documentary Martha, she shared she isn’t holding her breath to hear his reaction to her confession.
“I haven't talked to him for over 20 years,” she told People Oct. 21. “Sadly.”
The 83-year-old also confirmed she hasn’t shown her ex the documentary, either, adding when asked if he had seen it, “I have no idea.”
Of course, Martha hasn’t exactly hidden the valleys of her relationship with Andy. Prior to confirming she had an affair during their 29-year marriage, she had given women a piece of pointed guidance.
“Young women, listen to my advice,” she said in the Martha trailer. “If you're married and your husband starts to cheat on you, he's a piece of s--t.”
This isn’t the first time Martha has detailed her former marriage, either. She previously opened up on how divorcing her ex was a very difficult decision for her.
“We were the first to divorce in my family,” Martha told People in 2020. “We haven’t spoken since the divorce is even more painful. But I’m very strong, and I’m very motivated to get on with life.”
The doyenne of domesticity emphasized, “I have survived very nicely, and I think I make the most of it.”
And now that Martha—who shares 59-year-old daughter Alexis Stewart with her ex—is riding solo, she’s not going to settle for anything less than exactly what she wants.
“I know a lot of eligible men,” Martha told E! News last year. “I think they really want a woman who will take care of them, so I'm still not quite in the position where I can take care of a man full-time because I work too much.”
Martha continued, “If I analyze my life, I think the work has taken precedence over the romance.”
But if the right man shows up to her party, Martha isn’t against saving him a seat—so long as a helicopter ride or day on a yacht is on their itinerary for future dates.
While emphasizing it’s not her highest priority, Martha added of having some romance in her life: “It would be nice!”
