Bethany Joy Lenz's former in-laws are pushing back.

As the One Tree Hill alum has continued to share her experience as a member of The Big House Family organization, which she'd described as a "cult," the ministry's founder and her former father-in-law Michael Galeotti refuted the allegations.

"Everybody sees things a little differently and she's going to cling to the fame," he told Dailymail.com in an interview published Oct. 22. "Good for her. She's going to make a name for herself. But it's not the way it went down."

In her memoir Dinner for Vampires, out now, she shared insight into how she became involved with the group and ultimately married Michael's son Michael Galeotti Jr., with whom she shares 13-year-old daughter Rosie. (They divorced in 2012 after seven years of marriage.)

And while his dad didn't hold back on sharing what he thinks about the Pearson actress' recollection of the group, Michael Jr.'s first priority is their daughter.

"I don't know what to make of this memoir after all this time," he told the outlet. "I have a daughter who's really important to me. I don't want it to affect her. It's too much. I don't really want to cause any problems for her."

E! News has reached out to reps for Bethany and has not yet heard back.

The Galeottis' comments come days after Bethany gave more insight into her time at The Big House Family, including distancing herself from her family, which she said the group influenced her by noting that her mom was "spiritually in a different place."

"It happens really slowly," she explained on the Call Her Daddy podcast Oct. 16. "There were small comments dropped, like 'Don't forget, we're your family, we're here for you.'"

She alleged that they would often emphasize that her mom was "just on a different path" and that she didn't respect Bethany's boundaries.

She also shared that she and Michael Jr., who she only identified as "QB" in the episode, created a "sex schedule" to help with their intimacy problems.

"I was so disinterested in sex, I was then asked to go on a schedule," she recalled. "Basically of like, 'You just have to do it. Just do it. This is your duty. This is your job as a wife. Your emotions will fall in line. If you do it enough, then eventually, you will find a way to enjoy it.'"

However, she shared how the routine ultimately contributed to her anxiety in their relationship.

"My stomach dropped every single time," the 43-year-old said. "In fact, it really affected my relationships afterward—like, other boyfriends when I had to go pick them up from the airport. I had so much PTSD from showing up at the airport to see him, knowing that I was gonna have to start this sex schedule for the next, like, two weeks or three weeks or whatever."

Despite their sordid relationship, Bethany has sympathy for her ex.

"It's so sad because he—like the poor guy never had a shot," she explained. "[He] was raised by this narcissist. He's thrust into a marriage with a girl that's not right for him. He's doing the best that he can."

As she put it, "It was just a mess all around."
