Rachael Ray is opening up about her health.

During the debut episode of her I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead podcast, the 56-year-old admitted that she has had to take a step back from doing one of the things she loves—physical labor—due to recent falls.

“I am a homemaker. I love chores, I love being in the kitchen. I always work with my brain every day, I’m always writing something,” she told guest Jenny Mollen on the Oct. 22 episode. “But I really like chores. I like what people consider physical work. I like making dinners, planning dinners, making lists.”

Rachael’s love for tasks around the house includes carrying in the wood, which she noted she’s had to stop.

“I’ve had a couple of bad falls in the last couple of weeks,” she shared. “So, I haven’t been doing that in a while.”

The Food Network star has been open about her dedication to picking up a heavy workload.

Why Rachael Ray Says It's Healthy to Get in "Screaming Matches" With Husband John Cusimano

After losing her Upstate New York home in a fire in 2020, Rachael got right back to work rebuilding. In the process, her and husband John Cusimano worked on fixing up their other properties—including one in Italy.

And while she isn’t up for physical tasks at the moment, the former daytime TV show host noted she’s always has enough strength for a “healthy” screaming match with her husband of 19 years.

In fact, Rachael admitted that she and her longtime love don’t hold back when it comes to their emotions.

It's very hard, especially for hot-tempered or creative or vociferous—shall we say—loud people to be able to just calm it down," she explained during her podcast episode. "John and I don't calm it down ever. We have huge screaming matches all the time, but I think that's healthy. I really do."

"Too quiet freaks me out," she continued. "I prefer that you tell me what you think when you think it and let's just get it all out there."
