Pete Davidson is the king of tattoo removal.
The SNL alum stepped out alongside his longtime pal Machine Gun Kelly for the sneak preview of The Room at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles amid undergoing the process of having his ink removed—and the results of the treatment are jaw-dropping.
In a photo from the Oct. 23 outing, Pete posed next to the "Lonely Road" artist while wearing cargo pants and a red Fire Department of New York T-shirt, which showed off his practically bare forearms. The clean look was a noticeable transformation from his previous appearance, which included dozens of small tattoos in black ink up and down both of his arms.
And that's not the only reason his attire for the event was significant. The King of Staten Island star's FDNY shirt was also a heartwarming nod to his late father, Scott Matthew Davidson, who died on September 11, 2001, as a first responder at the Twin Towers.
And while a few of Pete's arm tattoos were still faintly visible in the shot, the 30-year-old previously shared that his yearslong tattoo removal journey—which began in 2020—was expected to come to an end this year.
"They said by the time I'm 30, they should all be gone," Pete told People in a July 2021 interview. "So, they got like two more years left of this."
As for why he decided to get rid of all his ink? The comedian shared that it has a lot to do with his desire to turn his attention to acting. After all, his characters often won't have tattoos, requiring him to go through the grueling process of covering up his ink temporarily on set.
"I honestly never thought that I would get an opportunity to act," Pete explained during a 2021 appearance on The Late Show With Seth Meyers, "and I love it a lot."
Noting that covering up his body art in the makeup chair can take "like three hours" and requires him to show up "three hours earlier," he quipped, "For some reason, people in movies, they don't have them that much."
