Olivia Pope fixed it.

Kerry Washington embraced her inner Zendaya while poking fun at a famous fictional love triangle from her past.

The 47-year-old Photoshopped an image of herself dressed as Zendaya’s tennis pro character Tashi Donaldson from her racy 2024 drama Challengers, even sporting Tashi’s “I Told Ya” shirt from the film.

In the image shared on Halloween, Kerry is standing in between her former Scandal costars Scott Foley and Tony Goldwyn, who were both decked out in tennis gear.

Expertly captioning the pic, “Challengers Accepted,” Kerry, who played fixer Olivia Pope in the political drama, hit the grand slam with the look, teasing the love triangle between Olivia, Scott’s Jake Ballard and Tony’s President Fitz, while also giving a nod to the Challengers tangled romantic web between Zendaya’s Tashi, Josh O’Connor’s Patrick Zweig and Mike Faist’s Art Donaldson.

Of course, fans went wild in the comments section on X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram.

With one X user writing, “y’all ate this up i can’t lie.”

Another fan on Instagram commented, “It’s the fact that she knows we’re all delulu enough to literally be obsessed with this.”

Despite the love and fanfare surrounding Scandal, which has continued even six years after it went off the air, Kerry recently shared that she didn’t think the Shonda Rhimes show would necessarily get made today.

Noting that the show was described as a “risk” for having a Black female lead and calling the current television climate “risk averse,” Kerry said at the Bloomberg Screentime Conference on Oct. 10, “I don’t know that it would have been greenlit with me, with a Black woman at the center.”

She also discussed how she wasn’t the original pick to play fixer Olivia Pope.

“Shonda Rhimes has talked about this publicly,” Kerry said of the Scandal creator. “When they first read the script, the executives were like, ‘This is a great role for Connie Britton.’ And I love Connie, but the show is inspired by a real woman named Judy Smith, who is a Black woman.”

She continued, “If it hadn’t been inspired by a real woman who is a Black woman, then everybody would have said, ‘Let’s make her white.’ You didn’t have the option to say that.”
