Christina Aguilera is thanking her family for knowing exactly what she needs.
The "Genie in a Bottle" singer gave her fans a rare glimpse of 16-year-old son Max—whom she coparents with ex-husband Jordan Bratman—as well as 10-year-old daughter Summer, whom she shares with fiancé Matt Rutler.
In a series of photos posted to Instagram Nov. 13 with the caption, "Unseen bits," Christina took her followers on a journey through her pics, including a peek at the family's recent trip to Japan, her cellphone keychain—which included a snapshot her latest collaborator Sabrina Carpenter, whom she joined onstage at an L.A. stop of her Short N' Sweet Tour Nov. 15—and a final photo of herself and Matt posing with Max and Summer.
The 43-year-old and Matt—who met on the set of 2010's Burlesque and confirmed their engagement in 2014—recently celebrated Summer's 10th birthday, with her dad sharing a special tribute to his no-longer baby girl.
"Happy 10th Birthday to my incredible Summer Rain!" Matt wrote on Instagram Aug. 15 alongside a video montage of Summer through the years. "Double digits and a world of possibilities ahead. Watching you grow into the amazing person you are has been the greatest adventure."
The 39-year-old added, "Here's to many more memories, laughs, and endless love. So proud and lucky to be your dad."
As for Christina, the "What a Girl Wants" singer has often gushed about how much she loves being a mom, and especially what she hopes she's imparting onto both of her children.
"I've seen so much so young," she told Glamour in August. "You just want the best for your kids."
But she knows that they're still "going to make their own choices and mistakes that define how they want to be."
"It's such a layered, interesting thing to be a parent," Christina continued, "and watch these people, these humans, grow up."
And despite knowing that once you become a mom, life is "not just about you" anymore, the "Reflection" singer does make time to prioritize her own self care.
"You have to make sure you're not sleeping on yourself," she said, "and still doing things that make you feel good."
