Drew Barrymore may be going on 50 first dates in the near future.
The Charlie’s Angels star—who shares kids Olive, 12, and Frankie, 10, with her ex-husband Will Kopelman—recently gave a relationship status update in a hilariously cheeky way.
“Last December I was single,” she wrote on a selfie in a Dec. 3 TikTok, looking refreshed with flowy hair. The video then scrolled to a second selfie of Drew with messier hair and a scrunched face, with the words, “This December I’m still single. Hope that helps!”
The update from the 49-year-old—who was also previously married to Jeremy Thomas and Tom Green—is confirmation that the child star is not currently coupled up. Indeed, since her split from Will in 2016 after four years of marriage, Drew has given rare updates into her dating life, including teasing a romance on her show that apparently ended before the holiday season last year.
"Funny enough, the person I have been seeing sort of in and around the last three years I met on [the dating app] Raya," she said in an October 2023 episode of The Drew Barrymore Show. "I invited him to a wedding next weekend, and he said, 'Wow, after three and a half years you are going to invite me to a wedding?'"
At the time, Drew also gave a shoutout to Taylor Swift—who has been dating Travis Kelce since last year—for inspiring her to be open about her dating life.
"Seeing her on that first date," Drew explained, "out there in the box with his family, I really had a very big Oprah 'aha' moment."
"Obviously, Taylor Swift is everything but normal," she continued, "but it was just like, 'I'm a female. I'm going to go out on a date with a male. I'm not gonna overthink this. I'm not gonna play the dark horse and be secretive and weird about it.'"
And while Drew may currently be single, she knows what she isn’t looking for: a man without ambition.
“I can’t recommend it,” she said in a Nov. 11 clip of her talk show. “It took me being with an idle man to realize that my motto is, ‘If you don’t work, we don’t work.’”
