The stars are loving this news like a love song.
After all, Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco announced their engagement following a one-year whirlwind romance.
As soon as Selena, 32, shared the news Dec. 11, writing under an Instagram post that showed off her ring and a sweet photo of her and her new fiancé, “Forever begins now…,”the Only Murders star’s Hollywood cohort flocked to the comments to share their excitement.
Among the many A-list names sharing their well wishes was Jennifer Aniston, who wrote, “HONEY!! Congratulations sweet mama!”
Lily Collins added, “Ahhhhhhhh yes yes yes!! Best news ever. Couldn’t be happier for you both,” while Selena’s Spring Breakers costar Ashley Benson commented, “Congrats lovey. So happy for you.”
Meanwhile, Cardi B didn’t hold back on gushing over the unbelievably exciting news, commenting alongside several heart and shocked face emojis, “Waiiittt hold on.”
Other well-wishers included Gwyneth Paltrow, Suki Waterhouse, Lil Nas X and Shay Mitchell, and Nina Dobrev, all of whom shared their elation over the relationship update. The latter, who recently got engaged herself to Shaun White, added, “So happy for you both!!!!”
Even Gordon Ramsay weighed in, sharing a nod to both Benny and Selena’s culinary prowess with the words, “Congratulations to you both it must be all that cooking.”
And not to be left out was Selena’s BFF Taylor Swift, who already had a suggestion on how she could be involved in the Wizards of Waverly Place’s alum’s future big day.
“Yes,” Taylor—who is fresh off her Eras Tour—wrote. “I will be the flower girl.”
Benny and Selena’s engagement comes after just over a year of dating, though they’ve known each other for almost two decades and even collaborated on the song “I Can’t Get Enough” years before their relationship took a turn for the romantic.
“We both met each other like almost 16, 17 years ago,” Benny, born Benjamin Joseph Levin, recalled in an April interview with SiriusXM Hits 1. “Obviously, we made a bunch of songs together. But before we had made any music together, I was one of her big meetings—like right around when she was just leaving Disney to make her own music."
The music producer has also been candid about the transition period from being just friends to something more—and the fact he hadn’t quite clocked the change.
"It was so crazy," Benny told Howard Stern in May, "when we went out on our first date, I didn't even know it was a date. She was like, 'Hey, you want to hang out?' And I was like, 'Yeah.'"
"I remember we were talking," he continued, "and she's such a forward person and she's like the coolest, the nicest, the sweetest, everything. And I remember sitting there and she's like, 'Well I would've worn something different for this date.' And I was like, 'What? We're on a date?'"
But in the time since, the 36-year-old has shared how he and Selena share an inseparable bond—and now they have forever together.
As he commented on her post, “Hey wait… that’s my wife.”
