Nikki Glaser has been having a banner year, so she wasn't going to let some silly thing like losing a Grammy bring her down.
And no, she didn't miss out on Best Gospel Album, as she quipped to Zuri Hall on Live From E!: Grammys Feb. 2 on the red carpet outside Crypto.com Arena.
"I already lost," Glaser, a first-time nominee for Best Comedy Album, said. "I know what happens, they gave my award away already. Dave Chappelle got it."
Though apparently she only found out by chance. (See the whole list of 2025 Grammy winners.)
"There's no ceremony, like televised, so I'm getting my hair and makeup done and it's already been determined that I didn't win," she explained, referring to the portion of the ceremony that takes place before the broadcast. "No one texted me about it. I just had the most random person in my life, goes, 'Dave Chappelle again.' I go, 'What are you writing about?' No one on my team, when it's bad news, no one wants to tell me, they just want you to find out the hard way."
So that makes six career Grammy wins for Chappelle and for Glaser...
Who cares, she's now a Grammy nominee, just like Taylor Swift!
"That actually feels amazing," Glazer said when Hall pointed out that she was now Taylor's "Grammy peer."
"I mean, she's always carrying them like this," the comedian continued, miming 14-time Grammy winner Swift with an armful of trophies, "and I can't even get one to hold onto. But it does feel nice to just be in the same room as all of these people that are so extraordinarily talented in a way that I'm not. It's wild that a comedian can be nominated for a Grammy. But now it's my goal to get nominated again, because I get to go to the Grammys. This is not an easy ticket to get. I had to, like, beg them to even let me come this year."
Glaser did win rave reviews for her Golden Globes hosting gig last month, but true to form, she wasn't going to let a chance to be self-deprecating pass her by.
"It is so exciting that I'm here," she added, "and I don't have to do anything!"
Hosting the Globes, "it was so much pressure," Glaser noted. "I didn't even get to hang out with any celebrities. I wasn't on the floor...You're working. You're worried about what's going to happen and you don't even get to watch the show 'cause you're backstage doing quick-changes. And this one I'm just going to be sitting there, getting to take it all in and see the best concert of my life."
The list of artists performing "is insane this year," she added, sharing that she "got chills" just seeing Gracie Abrams getting ready to go to the Grammys on Instagram. Also on her can't-miss list: Best New Artist nominees Chappell Roan and Sabrina Carpenter, and SZA, who's up for Best R&B Performance for "Saturn."
And Swift isn't performing, but presenting, Glaser said, "so I'll get to hear her talk and be poetic in that way."
Meanwhile, Glaser came dressed to impress and ready to dance in a sparkly mint green minidress with matching cape by Stella McCartney. And since you're now probably thirsty for more jaw-dropping looks, see all the fashion on the 2025 Grammys red carpet:
