Taylor Goldsmith is singing his praises to Los Angeles at the 2025 Grammys.
After Mandy Moore and her husband Taylor lost their home to the devastating L.A. wildfires, the Dawes frontman kicked off the 2025 Grammys, hosted by Trevor Noah at the Crypto.com Arena, alongside his brother and drummer Griffin Goldsmith to honor the city with a passionate performance of Randy Newman’s “I Love L.A.” They were also joined by Brad Paisley, Brittany Howard, John Legend, Sheryl Crow and St. Vincent.
Indeed, the brothers, who grew up in the city, were among those who were impacted by the devastation, losing their homes as well as their childhood home, studio and many of their band’s instruments. And it was just under a month ago that Mandy—who shares kids Gus Harrison, 3, Ozzie Bennett, 2, and Louise Everett, 4 months, with Taylor—shared how “gutted” she was by the effects of Eaton Fire that rapidly spread in their Altadena neighborhood.
“I love you, Altadena,” the This Is Us star wrote in an Instagram post at the time, showing footage of local buildings on fire. “Grateful for my family and pets getting out last night before it was too late (and endless gratitude to friends for taking us in and bringing us clothes and blankets).”
“Honestly, I’m in shock and feeling numb for all so many have lost, including my family,” she continued. “My children’s school is gone. Our favorite restaurants, leveled. So many friends and loved ones have lost everything too.”
While Mandy and Taylor suffered great loss themselves, they made sure to do whatever they could to help Griffin, who welcomed his first baby with wife Kit Goldsmith just days after losing his home, get back on his feet.
Mandy and her family, meanwhile, leaned on friends Hilary Duff and her husband Matthew Koma for support and a place to stay amid their devastating loss.
“They’ve taken care of my entire family from the moment this began,” Griffin gushed. “I will never be able to thank them adequately. This is the kindest act any human could do for another. They are the most beautiful, selfless people we’ve ever known.”
