Cynthia Erivo is not that girl debuting an engagement at an award show.
While the Wicked star blew fans away with her dazzling celestial nails at the 2025 Grammy Awards Feb. 2, it was her glimmering diamond ring on that finger that really caught everyone's attention.
And while fans felt their pulse rushing, head l reeling, face flushing, speculating she was engaged to rumored partner Lena Waithe, it turns out her ring was, well, just an accessory.
A source told E! News that her jewelry was loaned and added, "She can only wear rings on certain fingers because of the jewels on her nails."
As for the infinity band that sat below the solitaire diamond ring? That ring, seen on Cynthia's hand in the past, is simply a fashion statement. (See all the celebs on the red carpet here.)
Also a fashion statement? Her out-of-this-world manicure featuring a lot of bling and landscapes of the night sky. The look hinted at the song she was performing later in the evening—a rendition of Frank Sinatra's "Fly Me To the Moon."
"I feel like I'm representing the song right now," Cynthia, donning a navy blue custom Louis Vuitton gown, told Live From E!: Grammys correspondent Zuri Hill. "It's very space-esque, intergalactic. There's something within the night sky."
For her performance, which honored the late Quincy Jones, she swapped out her red carpet gown for a black Ashi Studio couture dress featuring a structured high-low skirt.
And yes, she was, of course, holding space throughout the evening. When she couldn’t find her seat inside Crypto.com Arena, she shared a chair with Taylor Swift. And the pair naturally recreated Cynthia and Ariana Grande’s viral moment, with Taylor holding onto the Tony winner’s finger.
