Bianca Censori didn’t necessarily shock Grammys producers with her red carpet look.
After the model showed off a practically naked look on the Grammys red carpet alongside husband Kanye West, an executive producer for the 67th ceremony, Raj Kapoor, shared his thoughts.
Although Kapoor noted to People in an article published Feb. 4 that the annual music event’s dress code is “artistic black tie,” he acquiesced, “in the music industry, I guess that's up for interpretation.”
The producer also shared that because Censori did not perform at the event—in fact, she and West did not even attend the actual ceremony—the show itself didn’t have strict guidelines for her.
“Obviously there is a dress code for anybody actually performing on the show that we have to adhere to standards and practices,” Kapoor added. “But as far as people attending and nominees attending, that would be something the Academy would have to answer.”
Following Censori’s bold moment on the carpet, she and West—who shares kids North, 11, Saint, 9, Chicago, 6, and Psalm, 5, with ex Kim Kardasian—promptly left the event, opting to skip the actual ceremony. Beyond Censori’s fashion choice, though, their arrival turned heads—as it was West’s first time attending the Grammys since 2015, when he brought along then-wife Kardashian.
While West’s “Carnival” was nominated alongside Ty Dolla $ign for Best Rap Song, he didn’t walk away with any accolades from the event—with the win instead going to Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” (Lamar also went on to win Song of the Year and Record of the Year for the hit.)
Later, West shared a congratulatory message for Lamar and emphasized the impact Censori’s look made during music’s biggest night.
“Custom Courture [sic] Grammy dress for the most beautiful woman ever," West wrote in a since-deleted Instagram post, sharing a photo of Censori’s see-through dress. “My best friend My wife.”
And two days after the event, West, 47, went on a posting spree in support of Censori’s look, claiming in another since-deleted post Feb. 4, “FOR CLARITY, MY WIFE IS THE MOST GOOGLED PERSON ON THE PLANET CALLED EARTH.”
