Elle Fanning is sliving for Paris Hilton’s upcoming TV adaptation at the 2025 Oscars.
On the red carpet outside Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre, the A Complete Unknown actress—a presenter at the March 2 ceremony hosted by Conan O’Brien—shared a small glimpse into her experience executive producing the upcoming A24 TV adaptation of Paris’ book Paris: The Memoir alongside her sister Dakota Fanning. (See every star on the red carpet here.)
“I can’t say much about it,” Elle told Zuri Hall during Live From E!: The Oscars, “but we have gotten to work really closely with Paris, which is just a dream come true to get to say that she’s become a friend. I was so obsessed with her when I was young.”
And while working with Paris has been an unbelievable dream come true, the thought of doing it with her sister has made it even more inconceivable.
“Dakota and I, we hope to work together for sure,” she continued. “That’s on the bucket list for us.”
Just as her childhood obsession with Paris may have played a part in landing her this opportunity, she had a similar experience with the Bob Dylan biopic. Indeed, when it comes to A Complete Unknown—which is nominated for Best Picture along with her costars Timothée Chalamet and Monica Barbaro earning nods for Best Actor and Best Actress, respectively—Elle believed that she manifested her role.
“I feel like I manifested this part in so many ways”, the 26-year-old said, going on to admit that she used to write the musician’s name on her hand every day of junior high. “I had posters of him on my wall.”
And when it came to her unbreakable bond with her costar Timothée, their friendship never got in the way of their impactful performances on set.
“Between scenes, we would just be ourselves and be silly off-camera,” the Maleficent actress recalled, “but I think everyone was so focused on this one, with this film, about really making sure we got it completely right. So there wasn’t much breaking in the scenes.”
