Rihanna is more than happy to share her umbrella with Ciara.
Over a decade after the Fenty Beauty founder and “1,2 Step” singer shared a heated Twitter exchange, they proved their feud had been leveled up to a friendship while attending the 2025 Met Gala.
Indeed, Ciara—donning a black turtleneck dress strung with delicate crystals draped over the cutouts—was all smiles as she gently placed her hand on pregnant Rihanna’s baby bump inside the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The feeling was definitely mutual as the “Umbrella” singer, who announced her third pregnancy with A$AP Rocky ahead of the May 5 red carpet, was glowing in her Mark Jacobs skirt suit.
As for what caused the strife between the singers?
While Ciara was on E!’s Fashion Police discussing looks at the 2011 BRIT Awards, she told the late Joan Rivers and the other hosts about her experience meeting Rihanna at a party.
“It's crazy, because I've always loved and respected what she's done in fashion,” Ciara said. “It wasn't the most pleasant run-in."
Rihanna ultimately responded on Twitter, writing, “My bad Ci, did I 4get to tip u? #howrudeofme.”
After a back-and-forth, in which the pair took aim at each other’s careers, the “Diamonds” singer apologized, writing, “Ciara baby, I love u girl!”
“U hurt my feelings real bad on TV,” she continued. “I'm heartbroken! That's y I retaliated this way! So sorry! #letsmakeup.”
For Ciara’s part, she was happy to let bygones be bygones. “Rhi, u know its always been love since day 1,” she replied. “Doing shows and everything. You threw me off in that party! Apology accepted. Let's chat in person.”
While it seemed like everything was good between the two, the “Level Up” singer reignited feud rumors after calling out Rihanna during a 2013 interview.
"I don't know what her problem is," she said on Wild 94.9 Radio. "I think she's nuts right now, like, whatever's going on, because for me, it doesn't make any sense. She has a lot of good things going on with herself. A lot of good things I've always said I've been happy for her. I don't get it. I really don't, but I wish her well. I wish her positivity."
Rihanna and Ciara putting their feud to rest wasn’t the only thing happening inside the Met. Keep reading for a glimpse at what goes on behind closed doors at the Met Gala 2025.
