Brooklyn Peltz Beckham and his wife Nicola Peltz Beckham were not among those who spent the first Monday in May at the 2025 Met Gala.
But it turns out, David Beckham and Victoria Beckham’s eldest son was never planning on walking the famed steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on May 5 with his wife of three years.
“Nicola and Brooklyn were never confirmed to attend the Met,” a source with knowledge—who confirmed the duo didn't pull out last minute—told E! News, “in hopes they could see David and celebrate his birthday with him that week, weekend instead.”
Just as the couple was absent from the lavish charity gala—hosted by co-chairs A$AP Rocky, Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, Pharrell Williams as well as Vogue editor Anna Wintour—they were also noticeably missing at the soccer star’s birthday party the night before.
Instead, David and Victoria shared glimpses into the May 2 festivities, surrounded by sons Romeo Beckham, 22, and Cruz Beckham, 20, as well as 13-year-old daughter Harper Beckham. They even wore matching navy outfits for the special occasion.
“Creating special memories with family and friends,” Victoria, 51, captioned a May 4 Instagram post, tagging kids who were pictured. “We love you all.”
Along with Brooklyn, 26, and Nicola, 30, fans noticed that a handful of stars known for their bold Met Gala looks were also absent from fashion’s biggest night. Indeed, LeBron James—who was set to be an honorary co-chair—was MIA alongside fashionistas Taylor Swift, Sarah Jessica Parker and Naomi Campbell.
While SJP was too busy working to slip on a gown and strut to New York City, the basketball star was stuck at home with a knee injury while the British model expressed how sad she was to miss the gala.
"I was so honored to be invited to tonight’s big event, but regretfully cannot make it," Naomi wrote in a May 5 Instagram post. "Even though I’m not there in person, I’m with you all in spirit, carried by the legacy of my beloved friend, the late Andre Leon Talley. His commanding presence, vision and belief that fashion is art helped shape what the Met Gala is presenting tonight."
