Chad Michael Murray's kid knows he lives a Cinderella story.
The One Tree Hill alum shared that his 10-year-old son—who he shares with wife Sarah Roemer—has learned to name-drop his dad's name in order to get an in with the ladies.
"I'm someone who, what a blessing to be able to make someone happy with something as simple as a photograph or an autograph," Chad explained during a July 29 appearance on Good Morning America. "So, I take pictures with people in public all the time."
As a result, the Freaky Friday star's son—whose name has not been shared publicly—has picked up on the fact that his dad's fans tend to be young women. As Chad quipped, "He knows the demographic that's coming."
And that knowledge has led to some embarrassing moments for the 43-year-old, who recalled one particular instance when his son used the information to chat up some girls while vacationing in Puerto Rico.
"I wasn't there, and he sees these girls, younger girls in bikinis," Chad shared. "And he walks over and he goes, 'My dad's Chad Michael Murray. I thought you might wanna get a photo.'"
And while the Cinderella Story actor—who also shares a daughter, 8, and a baby girl, born in 2023, with Sarah—recalled that his reaction was "oh no, no, no, no," he also admitted that his son would probably approach those women whether he had a famous parent to name-drop or not.
"He is so confident when he speaks to women," Chad said, recalling another funny moment when his family joined him for an appearance at an event at University of Florida. "I got a photo—it's just him sitting with these four or five college girls, and they're just chatting him up."
As for his 8-year-old daughter, she hasn't quite tapped into that level of confidence yet—at least when it comes to meeting the stars of her favorite movies. In fact, Chad recently shared that she was "starstruck" meeting his Freakier Friday costar Lindsay Lohan.
“She just had a moment because she just met Lindsay,” Chad Michael told E! News at the sequel's premiere July 22, imitating his daughter’s starstruck expression. “She’s not like that at all.”
He added, "It’s weird, the people you watch in movies, to see them in real life."
