Machine Gun Kelly is responding to rumors about a new emo girl in his life.
After the 35-year-old and Sydney Sweeney sparked romance speculation with a Las Vegas outing back in May, MGK (real name Colson Baker) was asked about the nature of their relationship during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live.
As host Andy Cohen asked during a fan Q&A portion of the Aug. 10 episode, “MGK, Kyle P. wants to know if there’s any truth to the rumor that you and Sydney Sweeney were more than just friends?”
To which the rapper—who shares Saga Blade, 4 months, with Megan Fox and Casie Colson, 16, with ex Emma Cannon—said in response, “Kyle P., shut up dude.”
The succinct and dryly delivered reply sparked laughter from Andy and the seated audience, though some fans noted the answer was not actually much of an answer after the moment was shared to the WWHL social media accounts.
“He never answered the question tho,” one user wrote on TikTok, while another went so far as to speculate, “So… that’s a yes.”
But while MGK is remaining mum on the exact nature of his relationship with the Euphoria actress—who split from her fiancé Jonathan Davino in March—the pair have known each other long before they were seen chatting at the grand opening of Las Vegas’ Palm Tree Beach Club on May 3.
In fact, the pair both starred in the 2019 film Big Time Adolescence, and in 2011 Sydney starred in MGK’s 2021 film Downfalls High with Mod Sun.
Sydney, for her part, hasn’t addressed speculation between her and MGK, and in July she sparked different romance rumors after a day of jet skiing in Idaho with a mystery man.
In photos from the July 25 outing, Sydney drove the jet skis while the man had his arms wrapped around her torso. The pair also took turns swinging from a waterslide rope and jumping into the lake.
Since she and Jonathan ended their engagement earlier this year after seven years together, the Anyone But You star has shared some insight into how she’s enjoying life as a single person.
“I’m learning a lot about myself, spending more time with my friends," told the Sunday Times in an interview published May 31. "And I’m loving it."
