Julia Roberts and Emma Roberts had everyone seeing double.
The Pretty Woman star and her niece turned heads when they made a rare family appearance on the red carpet of the Veuve Cliquot x Simon Porte Jacquemus party in New York City’s Central Park.
For their Sept. 9 joint outing, Julia donned black tailored pants and a matching suit jacket over a white button up. Meanwhile, the Scream Queens star—daughter of Julia’s brother Eric Roberts—stunned in a floor-length black gown with mesh panel detailing.
And beyond their color-coordinated outfits, the two were practically twins with their matching red hair.
Julia and Emma’s latest reunion marks their first red carpet appearance together since they attended the Los Angeles premiere of the film Jesus Henry Christ in 2012.
And although they don’t often share the spotlight together, Julia—who shares twins Hazel and Phinneaeus, both 20, as well as son Henry, 18, with husband Danny Moder—still makes sure to support her niece in her own silly ways.
Back in February 2022, the Notting Hill star honored Emma’s 31st birthday by sharing a rare glimpse into their jokester dynamic with a playful slow-motion video.
As seen in the clip shared to Instagram at the time, the two wore party crowns and party hats while staring into the camera and using party blowers. Then, a mysterious hand threw confetti into the frame, causing the sweet duo to crack a smile.
“Happy Birthday Magical One,” Julia, 57, wrote in the caption. “Oh how I love you. #waitforit.”
More recently, the American Horror Story actress reflected on how much she’s learned from her aunt about navigating life in Hollywood.
“I saw very close what that really looks like with my aunt Julia,” Emma, 34, told Bruce Bozzi of becoming a movie star during a June 2024 episode of his Table for Two podcast. “It’s fun and it’s great, but there is a part of it that’s really scary.”
She added, “Fame has never been the goal, because fame at a certain level is kind of scary.”
Similarly, Julia has also previously expressed that acting isn’t always her main focus.
“Acting is my dream come true, but it is not my only dream come true,” she told CBS News Sunday Morning in October 2022. “The life that I’ve built with my husband—the life that we’ve built with our children—that’s the best stuff. To come home at the end of the day triumphantly to them.”
