Sometimes managing responsibilities can become a tangled situation.
And for Mandy Moore—who is mom to sons Gus, 4, and Ozzie, 2, as well as daughter Lou, 12 months, with husband Taylor Goldsmith—there’s been a learning curve when it comes to balancing her life as a mom alongside a flourishing onscreen career.
“I think maintaining that work-life balance, especially now being a mom of three, it's definitely tricky,” she told E! News' Francesca Amiker at Step Up’s 2025 Inspiration Awards Sept. 26 in Los Angeles. “I think you have to continue adjusting your expectations as things evolve and the kids get older and whatnot.”
But it’s all worth it. As Mandy added, “I feel really lucky that 25 years in, I'm still able to do what I love.”
And with, as she said, more than two decades in the industry under her belt, the Tangled star has picked up some words of wisdom for anyone who feels like they’re still grasping at straws.
“We're all in the same boat,” she affirmed. “No one has it all figured out, and if they say they do, they're lying. So have some grace for yourself. I feel like no one's immune to it—we all have those days where we feel overwhelmed and overcome and confused and all of that—but just recognize that you take it one tiny step at a time.”
Plus, it’s always best to lead with your heart.
“Kindness is key,” Mandy added. “I feel like that's what you want your legacy to be. There are tons of successful people, there are tons of beautiful people and talented people, but I feel like kindness is the key to longevity.”
And for Mandy, a key to her own longevity—personally and professionally—is being able to balance it all with her husband of seven years by her side. In fact, on Taylor’s birthday this summer, the This Is Us alum gushed over the decade they’ve shared together.
“It’s hard to distill down all the things you bring to the table, Taylor,” she wrote in her August 16 post. “You’re everyone’s favorite person (including all 3 of our kids, duh).”
Mandy continued, “There’s no one more generous, creative, patient, handsome, fearless, intuitive, steadfast, humorous, honest…. I could go on and on. I’m grateful every single day to share this life with you.”
