Allison Holker Pays Tribute to Stephen “tWitch” Boss on What Would’ve Been His 43rd Birthday

Allison wrapped up the post with a throwback image from a Christmas with tWitch. In the image, the gamily of five poses in front of a Christmas tree, Weslie holding Maddox on her lap while Allison holds Zaia, tWitch smiling behind them.

In the three years since tWitch’s death by suicide at the age of 40, Allison—who was married to the dancer for almost 10 years before his 2022 passing—has been candid in sharing her grief journey with the world, and with tWitch’s many adoring fans.

Much of her revelations were in her 2025 memoir This Far: My Story of Love, Loss and Embracing the Light, in which the So You Think You Can Dance star detailed her relationship with tWitch and her experiences following his passing.

Nevertheless, Allison said she grappled with what to include in the book. As she put it within the memoir’s pages, “I was so conflicted about how much to share about Stephen’s final months. It’s his story, after all, and he closely guarded it while he was alive.”

But despite her doubts, the 37-year-old hoped the public would understand her intentions.

“To fans of Stephen and our family and friends,” she wrote in a lengthy note on her Instagram Story Jan. 8, “I want to be clear that my only intention in writing the book is to share my own story as well as part of my life with Stephen to help other people. Just like you."

And for those who read the book, Allison added, "Hopefully you’ll see my intention is to celebrate the love and life I shared with Stephen and our three beautiful children, and also the more complex aspects of both of our lives.”
