Jennifer Lopez is feelin' so good about her kids' next chapter.
The "On the Floor" singer and ex-husband Marc Anthony's 17-year-old twins Max and Emme have been touring colleges, and as they begin to find their post-high school paths, Jennifer will be by their side, cheering them on.
"I'm excited," she exclusively told E! News at the Kiss of the Spider Woman New York screening red carpet on Oct. 6. "I remember what it was like at 17, 18 years old, waiting for my life to begin. I feel that for my children. They have the world at their feet."
"I'm ready for them to go out there and have their adventure in life," she continued. "I will always be there for them. They will always have a home with me. I like to think that I made a type of home that they would love to come back to as much as they can."
Although Jennifer is looking forward to Max and Emme's college plans, it hasn't been the easiest task to do alone, especially during the premiere of her latest film.
"I was a few minutes late today when I got there," the Hustlers actress admitted of their most recent college tour. "It's like any single mom, you get there late. You always feel like you're behind."
Luckily, she added, "They liked the school today, so that made me happy."
Like any mother, however, Jennifer, 56, has some mixed feelings about her twins growing up.
"I'm happy because I remember how exciting that time of my life was when I was like, 'Oh, I'm figuring out what I want to do with my life,'" she shared on Live With Kelly and Mark ahead of the screening. "It's an exciting adventure, and I want that for them. But I also think, 'Oh, I'm gonna be by myself.'"
Jennifer—who settled her divorce from Ben Affleck in January—admitted that although there were some "brutal" years as Max and Emme navigated their earlier teenage years, she emphasized that their bond has only grown deeper.
"We're close. We're a close-knit three," Jennifer said. "A lot had happened to us. We had to bond together. And so that kind of changed things and made it really beautiful for us."
Kiss of the Spider Woman premieres in theaters Oct. 10.
