Sara Bareilles and Joe Tippett are writing a love song together for the rest of their lives.
Indeed, the Waitress alums confirmed they are married after nine years together, showing a glimpse into their intimate nuptials.
“We did a big thing,” Sara wrote in an Oct. 7 Instagram photo. “I will just say I love this man and I love the community who came to hold us up. I am feeling so lucky and so grateful.”
The couple had a small backyard-style wedding, complete with rug runners down the makeshift aisle and their adorable dog as ring bearer.
Sara, for her part, wore an elegant deep-V cut ivory dress with a jewel-embroidered design on the front and a slit down one leg. She topped off her bridal look with a headband and sandal heels. Meanwhile, Joe wore a navy suit with a floral orange tie and brown loafers.
And although Sara’s first glimpse at their happily ever after occurred after the fact, Joe had been hinting at their happy day, which occurred Oct. 5, for several weeks.
“Marrying My Best Friend Today,” Joe wrote in a sweet Oct. 5 photo of himself and Sara embracing. “May We All Be So Lucky.”
Last month, he also shared a photo of his now-wife at city hall in front of the “marriage license” sign. He cheekily added in the post, “Getting some property assessed.”
Of course, Sara has been just as brave online about sharing just how much she loves her now-husband.
“You are the great big adventure,” she wrote in a March 1 post in honor of Joe’s birthday. “You are the deep waters and the life raft and the storm and the sky and the rainbow and the new dawn. You are deeply, profoundly lovable and the more I know you the more I love you and there is still so much more to know.”
The newlyweds got engaged back in 2022, eight years after they met during Joe’s audition process for Waitress in 2015. Recently, the Girls5eva alum looked back fondly at their musical meet-cute.
“This project brought me my future husband, which is really a beautiful thing," she told People in April. "It's very special to get to share the stage with Joe."
