King Kylie on the track.
Kylie Jenner channeled her 2014 alter ego as she made her music debut in Terror Jr’s new single “Fourth Stike” on Oct. 13. In honor of her collaboration with the group—which consists of singer Lisa Vitale and producer David “Campa” Benjamin Singer-Vine—Kylie offered a BTS look at her time in the studio.
“AHHHHHH!!!!!! FOURTH STRIKE!!! terror jr ft KING KYLIE!!!!! OUT NOW EVERYWHERE! what is happening!!!,” the 28-year-old wrote alongside an Oct. 14 Instagram photo dump featuring pictures of her in the booth. “There was a little rumor 10 years ago that I was the one actually singing on 3 strikes! it wasn’t me (wish it was) so I had the idea to come together for fourth strike and it would actually be ME FEATURED!”
She added, “@terror.jr thank you for making another perfect song and for trusting me to actually ft on this! I was soooooo nervous but so grateful @thacarterb I couldn’t have done it without you thank you for setting me up with such an amazing team @bschoudel @kshmr and @jbach !! & my baby @makeupbyariel !!!!! for supporting me and loving me.”
Kylie’s carousel revealed her lending her vocals as she whispers the name of her alter ego “King Kylie,” into the mic. In another video, she listens to the playback in the studio of her singing on the bridge. Getting her family in on the action, Kylie also recorded her and Travis Scott’s kids Stormi, 7, and Aire, 3, as they sang along to the song in the car.
Taking to the comments to voice their support, Terror Jr wrote, “Thanks for creating this with us. You sound so good on it!!”
Indeed, “Fourth Strike” is a callback to the original Kylie Cosmetics collection, which used Terror Jr’s first single “3 Strikes” in promos. This, in turn, sparked the rumor that Kylie was the ominous female vocalist on the song—before the band went public with their identities.
“Fourth Strike” is also the sound behind Kylie Cosmetics 10th anniversary, as the track is used in the visuals to promote the collection.
In the teaser shared Oct. 13 on Instagram, Kylie—who dons her signature dark hair with teal ends—is interrogated by police for her work flipping the “entire cosmetics industry on its head.” As Kylie is released from jail in the visual, the single plays while she hops in a convertible driven by her mother Kris Jenner. The Kardashians star—who teased the return of her alter ego earlier this year—celebrated her milestone collection as she dusted off her teal crown.
