Sunny Anderson is cutting up some jokes.
Amid the news that her Food Network show The Kitchen will end in December after 12 years on air, the cohost had some fun while engaging with supportive fan comments.
“Those Kitchen mugs are collector items now!” one fan wrote to Sunny, as seen in a screenshot on her Instagram Story Oct. 21. “Can’t wait to see what’s next for you on Food Network!”
And the 50-year-old agreed about the coffee cups, quipping back, “Happy I ‘stole’ them from set to share.”
In addition to “stealing” some gifts from the show, the Drew Barrymore Show correspondent—who currently helms The Kitchen alongside Katie Lee Biegel, Jeff Mauro and Geoffrey Zakarian, as well as guest host Alex Guarnaschelli—received a bouquet of flowers from Food Network, which she showcased alongside a note that read, “Congrats on a successful run!”
“That’s what I’m talking about,” Sunny said in the clip shared to her Instagram Story. “Y’all sweet, super sweet.”
Earlier in the day, the Sunny’s Kitchen author shared her heartfelt appreciation for her 40-season run on The Kitchen, too.
“For such a loud, talkative chick,” she wrote on Instagram, “I have 2 words… Thank you!”
Sunny’s cohost Katie also reminisced on “the end of an era.”
“Thank you so much to all of our fans,” she wrote on her Instagram Story Oct. 21. “The Kitchen was the greatest professional honor of my life and I will be forever grateful.”
Meanwhile, fellow cohost Jeff celebrated the “cooking, laughing, and eating life-changing bites” he shared with his fellow chefs, whom he called his “best friends.”
“We laughed so much,” he wrote on Instagram Oct. 20. “We ate so much. I learned so much. I could write a book the size of a schooner—in fact, I just might. I didn’t expect to feel this sad, but my optimism for what lies ahead outweighs the sadness.”
Jeff concluded, “More than anything, I’m deeply grateful and humbled for this immense opportunity that I will never forget.”
