Jeremy Allen White knows how to serve up a look.
But in his new film Deliver Me From Nowhere, The Bear actor had to swap his signature white tee and blue apron for flannels and tanks to play Bruce Springsteen.
Although Jeremy sported weathered leather jackets, classic blue jeans and an array of cozy flannel shirts in true Bruce fashion while filming, he took a different approach when it came to paying homage to The Boss during the film's press tour.
At this year's BFI London film festival, Jeremy donned a crisp, classic suit with a unique twist: Rather than wearing a traditional tie or undoing a few buttons on his shirt, he wore a delicate bow with shining white pearls around his neck at the festival's Headline Gala on Oct. 15. The bold yet playful choice gave the look a sense of individuality, one reminiscent of Bruce’s rockstar energy.
On Oct. 10, Jeremy put another special twist on a classic suit while walking the red carpet for the film’s premiere in Italy. The actor wore a textured ensemble featuring a grey double-breasted jacket with a delicate white flower pinned to his lapel.
But there are times the Shameless alum has opted to keep it classic. For the 17th Film Festival Lumiere in France, Jeremy donned a simple, clean-cut suit. The look, complete with high-waisted slacks and a perfectly fitted blazer, had the same navy blue tone as a certain tortured chef’s signature apron.
And in one instance, The Iron Claw star opted for a much more direct recreation. During an Oct. 7 photo call in Spain, Jeremy channeled Bruce with blue jeans—a signature look for the “Dancing in the Dark” signer—and a navy button-up jacket.
When it came to tackling the role of Bruce, Jeremy has admitted there was an initial hesitancy.
"I was excited. I was nervous. I've been a fan of Bruce's for a long time,” the 34-year-old told E! News on Sept. 28 at the film’s New York Film Festival premiere. “I never sang, I never played the guitar before, and I think all that stuff was rattling around my head."
He added, "In the beginning, I was concerning myself with, 'What are all these people gonna think?' and I wanted to please them. There was a lot of responsibility in taking on the role, for sure."
