Calling all the monsters: Heidi Klum is coming for your brand.
Ahead of the Project Runway alum’s signature Halloween party Oct. 31, she has begun teasing her latest costume, which is already sure to top her and husband Tom Kaulitz’s matching robotic E.T. contraptions from last year.
In a video shared to Instagram Oct. 31, Heidi showed a close-up of her face, which was already covered in a light coating of green makeup. In addition to painting her skin, her eyebrows were dyed a matching hue, and she wore a bald cap on her head.
And that wasn't the only hint the 52-year-old gave for her ensemble. She also paired the clip with spooky background music that included chimes, leaving fans to speculate that she was dressing as everything from The Grinch to Beetlejuice.
This isn’t the first time Heidi has hinted at her latest Halloween costume. Earlier this month, the America’s Got Talent judge—mom to Leni, 21, Henry, 20, Johan, 18 and Lou, 16, with ex Seal—shared a glimpse into what fans could expect from her look, posting a very realistic clay model of her face, teasing in the caption of the Oct. 1 Instagram post, “This is only the beginning.”
And in August, Heidi assured that she would never forgo her favorite holiday, especially when it comes to her annual party. Good thing, considering the annual New York bash has seen celebrity couples like Dylan Sprouse and Barbara Palvin show out their best coordinated costumes, as well as stars like Frankie Grande give even Heidi a run for her money.
“I’m hard at work already,” Heidi teased of her bash during an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon at the time. “I’m gonna be extra ugly and super scary. Let’s not ruin it. We have exactly 86 days, but who’s counting?”
But while Heidi is now a quintessential costume guru, she admitted that it took years to elevate to the level of the elaborate prosthetics she is known for today after starting the annual event in 2000.
“I had to do my own hair and makeup,” Heidi reflected. ‘“I didn’t know anyone at the time who does special effects makeup. But over the years, I’ve met amazing people and they help me now.”
Indeed, for the last several years, Heidi has collaborated with prosthetic makeup designer Mike Marino. And while he has put together transformations for films like The Penguin and A Different Man, he has previously compared the level of stress surrounding the 52-year-old’s annual look to “war.”
“You basically prepare for some sort of extreme challenge,” Mike admitted to Today last year. “It’s never easy. But that’s what we do. I’m one of the luckiest people in the world.”
