Savannah Guthrie’s Halloween costume is very trendy.
The Today anchor previewed one of her looks for this year’s festivities and she’s feeling—as the kids say—67.
In her cheeky video, Savannah donned jeans, and a black blazer layered over a grey hoodie, turning around to reveal a silver 6 on the front of her body and a silver 7 on the back as she did the up and down hand motions associated with the word for the camera.
Alongside the Oct. 29 Instagram post, set to Skrilla’s Doot Doot (67),” Savannah wrote, “Halloween costume [check emoji].”
Savannah’s costume was a hit with fellow parents, who have become familiar with the phrase thanks to their children, with one writing, “Oh that should drive your kids crazy.”
Another user loved the idea of Savannah—who shares kids Vale, 11, and Charlie, 8, with husband Michael Feldman—encouraging parents to jump on the trend.
“I think all parents should unite in wearing this costume,” one user wrote in the comments. “To extinguish this saying collectively, forever.”
Savannah’s costume was not only right on time, but on trend, as Dictionary.com announced 67 as the Word of the Year, after it pickup viral steam thanks to the “67 Kid” and NBA player LaMelo Ball.
Indeed, while the linguistics website acknowledges that the saying is worthy of celebration, like many adults, they haven’t landed on a specific meaning.
“Some say it means ‘so-so, or ‘maybe this, maybe that,’ especially when paired with its signature hand gesture where both palms face up and move alternately up and down,” Dictionary.com’s Oct. 29 press release noted. “The most defining feature of 67 is that it’s impossible to define. It’s meaningless, ubiquitous, and nonsensical.”
“Still, it remains meaningful to the people who use it because of the connection it fosters,” the release continued. “67 shows the speed at which a new word can rocket around the world as a rising generation enters the global conversation.
