Halloween is finally Poot’s big night out.
A decade after a washed-out, altered image of Demi Lovato inspired the infamous Poot Lovato meme, the “Heart Attack” singer gave the cringe moment its time to shine, using it as her 2025 Halloween costume.
“happy halloween and happy one week of intd!!!” Demi, who recently dropped her It’s Not That Deep album, wrote in an Oct. 30 Instagram post. “Been so locked in this era, I thought I'd let pootvato out.”
In the photos, Demi transformed into the nearly unrecognizable 2015 photoshopped snap caking on powdery makeup and pinning her hair to mimic her previous half-shaved hairstyle.
Another video showed insight into what Demi imagined Poot’s day-to-day is like in the garage where she lives. Set to Sabrina Carpenter’s “House Tour,” the 33-year-old toured the area, highlighting the opened boxes, the space heater and bubble wrap.
Elsewhere in the post, Demi mimicked Poot being trapped in her home, playfully banging on her garage door as she screamed, “Help!”
While Demi has embraced the joke, she wasn’t always laughing along with fans, who imagined Poot as Demi’s twin locked in a basement.
“I thought it was a real picture of me,” Demi explained in a video interview with Harper’s Bazaar in 2023. “I was like, ‘Oh no, that’s a really bad angle,’ but Poot was photoshopped. Later, I felt better about it because I realized that wasn’t my face, but it was definitely weird when it went viral.”
Now, here and there, she’ll give fans an update on how her twin sister is really doing.
“When someone asks me to let Poot out of the basement,” Demi wrote in an April TikTok. “I’m never letting her out.”
