These Grammy nominations are hitting all the right notes.
The Recording Academy has released its list of nominees for the 2026 award show—occurring Feb. 1—and among it are old and new faces hoping to bring home their own gilded gramophone.
Heading into nomination day on Nov. 7, some of the artists expected to bring home the highest number of nods included Sabrina Carpenter for her album Man's Best Friend, Kendrick Lamar for GNX, Lady Gaga and her album Mayhem as well as future Super Bowl performer Bad Bunny for DeBí TiRaR MáS FOTos.
In fact, many of these artists were expected to find themselves nominated in multiple of the award show’s three biggest categories: Record of the Year, Album of the Year and Song of the Year.
As for one of the other most exciting categories—Best New Artist—musicians such as Role Model, Olivia Dean, Lola Yung, Megan Moroney, and Yungblud were among the names mentioned in many of the Grammy predictions.
As for which songs were expected to earn nods for defining the past year? Lady Gaga’s “Abracadabra,” Doechii’s “Anxiety,” Rosé and Brunos Mars' “APT” as well as Bad Bunny’s “Baile Inolvidable” and Sabrina’s “Manchild” were all among the ear worms fans thought might get a nomination.
Plus, there was the sensation that was K-Pop Demon Hunters. The movie’s soundtrack boasted songs such as “Golden” and “Your Idol” which quickly climbed charts, making the Netflix film a Grammy contender.
The 2026 award show, in addition to its usual categories, also added two new exciting distinctions to its lineup: Best Traditional Country Album and Best Album Cover.
The adds, according to the Recording Academy, were based off proposals submitted by Academy members and as part of the organization’s commitment to evolving with the industry.
As Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. put it, “Many of this year's changes allow us to honor even more creators. But even more importantly, these are much-needed updates that ensure those who are making significant contributions to the musical process are properly recognized and have the opportunity to be celebrated on Music's Biggest Night.”
But as for whether the predictions for the award show were accurate? It’s time to find out.
