Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton are not making any more great escapes this year.
The couple, who tied the knot in 2021, are enjoying a much more lowkey holiday season at home, with a source telling E! News, “The family will be celebrating the holidays in Oklahoma.”
Of course, Gwen—mom to Kingston, 19, Zuma, 17, and Apollo, 11, with ex Gavin Rossdale—and Blake have been laying low for the last month. And this included the duo forgoing the Country Music Awards Nov. 19, with an insider noting they instead planned to be “watching the CMAs on their TV this year.”
It comes as no surprise that The Voice alums prefer to spend the season of tidings and great joy at their Oklahoma digs. After all, Blake previously shared that their Southern property caught his wife’s fancy. As he told E! News in 2023, “I'm not going to say that she's become this country girl, but I just think we're starting to see a different side of Gwen.”
Meanwhile, the No Doubt member previously shared why their property in the Sooner State is integral to their romance.
“I know this sounds weird, but Blake and I came together in gardening,” Gwen, 56, admitted to The Guardian last year. “We have a house together in Oklahoma and during the pandemic we came across this very old building on the land and there were some purple irises, which someone must have planted centuries ago, but they’ve survived.”
Indeed, Gwen is convinced that a higher power put the “Boys ‘Round Here” singer, 49, in her life during a particular low point following her 2016 divorce from Gavin.
“Meeting my husband felt like a second chance at life,” she added at the time. “Because when my family fell apart, it felt like a catastrophe. How do you pick yourself up from that? But God put this other person there to love me.”
Naturally, Blake has echoed his wife’s sentiment.
“We found each other at a very low point in each other's lives,” he explained. “She kept me from going to the absolute bottom, you know? It was like literally falling off a cliff and a hand reached out and caught me is what it feels like.”
