Now, Luke Wilson is the one who’s legally blond.
The Legally Blonde star stepped out at the 93rd annual Hollywood Christmas Parade with a bleached look reminiscent of his older brother Owen Wilson.
Alongside the major hair transformation, the Old School alum sported a red and blue flannel shirt, blue slacks and a tweed gray jacket.
Luke’s new look comes less than a year after he emphasized he was more than willing to return to the Legally Blonde franchise for another follow up, teasing that something is certainly coming around the bend for him with the production of the prequel series in full swing.
“I think Reese [Witherspoon] has been working over the years, trying to put something together, and Reese is just so smart,” Luke explained during an appearance on the Today show in January. “She's not just going to do a part three.”
The 54-year-old—who starred in the original film as well as Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde—noted that Greta Gerwig’s 2023 take on another powerful blonde gave all the more reason to return to Elle Woods’ story.
“Especially after something like Barbie, there's certainly an audience out there for something that's very funny and light,” Luke explained, “but also has a positive message. So, I'm just hoping that they do it while we still can.”
Meanwhile, Reese has also shared that her character is simply too precious to not do justice with a follow up, explaining how she chose Lexi Minetree to play young Elle in the upcoming Prime Video series.
“Out of 3,000 audition tapes, this girl was just amazing,” Reese shared during a January appearance on This Morning. “I think one of the best moments of my career was when I got to tell her she got the job.”
For Reese, the legacy of the franchise is so “meaningful.”
“Little girls come up to me all the time talking about it,” she added. “It’s an inspiration and little girls don’t have that many heroes and people to look up to and she was a hero who went to law school.”
As she put it, “I get a lot of people stopping me and telling me, ‘I went to law school because of Elle Woods.’”
