Watch: Princess Charlotte Channels Grandma Princess Diana In Royal Family Outing

Princess Charlotte is stepping into some very big shoes.

The 10-year-old daughter of Prince William and Kate Middleton joined her parents—along with siblings Prince George, 12, and Prince Louis, 7—for the Together At Christmas Carol Service at London’s Westminster Abbey Dec. 5, where she donned an ensemble that evoked her late grandmother Princess Diana.

During the royal outing, Charlotte stepped out in a velvet long-sleeve navy blue dress with a white collar, along with navy tights and a pair of dark flats. The outfit closely resembled a similar getup which Diana—who died in 1997—wore to a dinner at Royal Festival Hall in December 1981.

The event, which will air in the U.K. on Christmas Eve, was also attended by several members of the royal family including Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh as well as Princess Anne’s daughter Zara Tindall and her husband Mike Tindall. Kate’s parents, Michael Middleton and Carole Middleton, were also on hand, along with her brother James Middleton and his wife Alizée Thevenet.

Guests at the ceremony also received a special letter from the Princess of Wales, who has hosted the annual service since 2021. In her message, she wrote to attendees about honoring “the visible and invisible bonds that unite us all” during the holiday season.

“Even with all the rushing around and familiar traditions, there is a quieter sense of what it calls out in us,” Kate shared, according to People. “There is a softness to the season that reminds us of something easy to forget; that what we do matters. Our words, our choices, and even the ways we look out for one another—they ripple outward, touching lives we may never see.”
