Kathy Griffin is pouring a cup of romantic tea.
After all, she recently crossed paths with her crème de la crème. Months after she finalized her divorce from ex-husband Randy Bick, the Hot Cup of Talk star detailed her love life, including how she unexpectedly found a spark with a younger man.
“I accidentally fell in love with a 23-year-old,” Kathy, 65, told The Cut in a piece published on Dec. 31. “Because of his age, he didn’t have the usual sexism, misogyny, and biases that guys my age tend to have. He seemed to see me. I know that sounds really corny. Oh God, it sounds so lame! But I felt really comfortable with him, and I felt very content just hanging out.”
Though the two naturally “clicked” after their first date, they both realized this connection “never could’ve lasted.”
“But it was nice to know that my heart could still feel like that in my 60s,” she continued, “and it was nice to have the universe show me a guy that I really got a kick out of but also respected. I thought he was smart. I thought he could roll in different worlds. So even though there was a big age difference, I’m glad that we were able to capture it for a little while.”
Indeed, Kathy remembers each chapter of the brief romance. She first met him on a dating app, which her two close friends—singer Sia and journalist Lisa Guerrero—set her up on after her split from Randy in December 2023. She went on a date with two other men in the process, but their personalities didn’t compare to that of her potential suitor.
In fact, Kathy admitted he impacted her life in a special way.
“He made me feel sexy, special, smart and funny,” she explained. “It had a lot of the elements of what I think would’ve made a real, lasting relationship. He hadn’t been banged around that much. He’s so young that he didn’t have this baggage. And I just knew that my baggage was gonna get in the way.”
However, the My Life on the D-List actor wasn’t too surprised by his age, as she’s always “been asked out by younger guys.”
“I haven’t been with a guy my age since I was in my 30s,” she noted. “I don’t know what it is, but my ex-husband was 18 years younger than me. I’m constantly called a cougar, but I don’t mind. I kind of am a cougar, which to me just means you have the freedom to choose the person that you want as opposed to the age bracket that society tells you is the only option for you.”
She jokingly added, “Plus, it’s not like I’m a dude getting these guys knocked up, you know? And they’re the ones who asked me out! I put 64 on my profile, and when I went on those dates, every one of them was at least 20 years younger. What am I gonna do? I can’t let this bangin’ body go to waste.”
And while Kathy’s spark with the younger man didn’t blossom further, she can always count on one lifelong partner to keep her warm during the holidays.
As she admitted, “Looking back at my life, stand-up comedy is the best boyfriend I ever had."

Eight years after sharing in an ELLE article that she had been battling a rare type of bone cancer—her fake diagnosis even inspiring a storyline on Grey's Anatomy—show writer Elisabeth Finch admitted in December it was all a ruse.
"I told a lie when I was 34 years old and it was the biggest mistake of my life. It just got bigger and bigger and bigger and got buried deeper and deeper inside me," Elisabeth told The Ankler newsletter Dec. 7, adding, "I've never had any form of cancer."
Summed up Finch, who was placed on administrative leave from the ABC medical drama before eventually resigning, said, "What I did was wrong. Not okay. F--ked up. All the words."

Telling The New York Times the lengths she would go to for a more youthful appearance, the reality star cracked that she was willing to try just about anything.
"If you told me that I literally had to eat poop every single day and I would look younger, I might," she said in June. "I just might."
In a July 2022 interview with Allure, Kim said she was "kind of joking" about the comment, though the idea didn't seem too terrible.
"But now that I think about it," Kim added, "I would probably eat s--t if someone told me, ‘If you eat this bowl of poop every single day, you'll look younger.'"
How much could she make room for? "Maybe just a bite," she told the outlet. "I don't think I can do a whole bowl."
