Whether it's the complete strangers she interviews on CBS This Morning or the colleagues she's worked with for years, the journalist has been able to develop a positive rapport with plenty of folks over the years.
But in a new interview with Vanity Fair, Gayle was asked to name a living person who "you most despise." Her answer may surprise you.
"'Despise' is a strong word," she explained to the publication. "I'm not a huge fan of the woman I caught naked with my now ex-husband on June 24, 1990, at 9:16 P.M. But I don't remember the details."
Gayle divorced her husband back in 1993. While she's hasn't spoken often about the relationship, she once told Will Smith that time has helped heal most wounds.
"I went to marital counseling. I have been divorced since 1993, so I'm all healed and everything," she said on her Sirius XM radio show back in 2006. "I have worked it out. I'm not bitter. I'm OK. I'm really OK."
While speaking to Vanity Fair, Gayle admitted that her current state of mind is "genuinely happy." She also shared what she looking for in a man as the search continues for the greatest love of her life.
"It's a tie between height and depth," she shared. "And they have to have a good sense of humor."
And regardless of her relationship status, she has her close friend Oprah Winfrey always around for plenty of fun experiences. Whether attending the Essence Festival in New Orleans this past weekend together or removing poop from carpets—yes it really happened today—the pair always have each other's backs.
"She always does the right thing," Gayle shared. "Even when no one is looking."
