The CW

Jane the Virgin (The CW)

When to Watch: Monday, Oct. 17 at 9 p.m.
What to Expect: Okay, there's still no word on Michael's fate after that terrifying cliffhanger—you know, the one where he was shot in the closing moments of the season two finale. But let's take the fact that Brett Dier has been on set filming with his costars as a promising sign. Things might not be smooth sailing for the newlyweds, however, when Jane's old crush comes back into the picture. Other exciting news: Eva Longoria is directing an upcoming episode.

Law & Order: SVU (NBC)

When to Watch: Wednesday, Sept. 21 at 9 p.m.
What to Expect: In the season premiere, Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) returns from her romantic getaway with Tucker (Robert John Burke) and is faced with her own guilt over the events of the season 17 finale. You remember those events, right? The tragic death of Mike Dodds (Andy Karl). Things are bit tense with Deputy Chief Dodds (Peter Gallagher), Mike's father and Benson's boss. "I think she takes this hard. This is, again, [she] cannot catch a break because there's so much…this idea of being a leader, right? And everything's your fault because it's all under you. It's taking on so much responsibility and I think that she has survivor's guilt pretty serious and takes a hit on this one. These things are adding up, I think she really blames herself. I know just reading it I was like," Hargitay told us on set of the season 17 finale, "I felt sick."

This season expect a Steven Avery-esque case and a guest appearance from Vice President Joe Biden.

Legends of Tomorrow (The CW)

When to Watch: Thursday, Oct. 13 at 8 p.m.
What to Expect: There is so much cool stuff coming up for the Legends (like new team members, and a battle with the Legion of Doom!) that you'd think they wouldn't have time for romance, but this is the CW, so of course they do. Sara, in particular, will be finding herself in multiple romantic scenarios.  "She's kind of a player this season," Caity Lotz said of the Canary. "A dude and a girl in every port. It's not her fault that everybody wants to hook up with her!"

Madam Secretary (CBS)

When to Watch: Sunday, Oct. 2 at 9 p.m.
What to Expect: Morgan Freeman is back in the fold as Chief Justice Wilbourne and he directed the third season premiere. In the first episode back, a storm destroys a naval base in Bahrain and Elizabeth (Téa Leoni) urges President Dalton (Keith Carradine) to reexamine his climate change and foreign policy practices—but will that jeopardize his re-election campaign? Plus, the McCord family fears for their safety when Jason's (Evan Roe) laptop is hacked and Jose Campos (Carlos Gómez) tries to bring Henry (Tim Daly) back into the DIA fold. CBS News' Jane Pauley returns to guest star as herself.

Modern Family (ABC)

What to Expect: Guest stars and growing pains! Aside from appearances by Martin Short and Nathan Fillion, season 8 will find Alex getting mono, Haley setting out to become an entrepreneur, Luke and Manny going on college visits, Lily dealing with being a tween, Gloria's hot sauce business taking off, and Claire dealing with her dad's return to the world of closets. It all kicks off with the fam celebrating Father's Day after returning from their various summer vacations.

Mom (CBS)

When to Watch: Thursday, Oct. 27 at 9 p.m.
What to Expect: In the fourth season of CBS' comedy, Christy (Anna Faris) and Bonnie's (Allison Janney) turf will be invaded when Bonnie's new boyfriend, the wheelchair-bound Adam (William Fichtner, newly-minted series regular) moves in for a bit. His drinking will test the new relationship, but considering Fichtner's promotion and the sparks seen in this exclusive photo, we think things will work out. Elsewhere in the season, Rosie O'Donnell's Aunt Jeanine will return to tempt Christy to drop out of school and become a real estate agent. And both of her kids will give her gray hair with Violet's (Sadie Calvano) bad judgement forces her to move back home and Roscoe (Blake Garrett Rosenthal) begins experimenting with pot.

Narcos (Netflix)

When to Watch: Friday, Sept. 2
What to Expect: Who kills Pablo Escobar? We're about to find out in season two, but of course the drug trade and the drama don't stop when Pablo dies. "The powerful Pablo of the first season is gone," star Wagner Moura told us. "We're going to see him much more vulnerable. The second season covers only one year of Pablo's life, so it's more focused on the drama of the characters and the way they're struggling with their emotions."

NCIS (CBS)

When to Watch: Tuesday, Sept. 20 at 8 p.m.
What to Expect: So long, DiNozzo, hello Fez! With Michael Weatherly leaving the show, Wilmer Valderrama is set to join the team, along with Jennifer Esposito, and the That ‘70s Show star had quite the interesting word choices when we asked him to tease the new season: "Complicated. Unpredictable. Pregnant. Love Triangles."

When to Watch: Tuesday, Sept. 20 at 8:30 p.m.
What to Expect: Zooey Deschanel is directing the season premiere, titled "House Hunt"—which will see newlyweds Cece and Schmidt house hunting. The episode picks up three months after the season five finale, with Jess trying out new hobbies in an attempt to ignore her re-blossoming feelings for Nick. Megan Fox will be back, but not until the second half of season six (she did just have a baby, after all!). You can also look forward to a crossover with Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

Once Upon a Time (ABC)

When to Watch: Sunday, Sept. 26 at 8 p.m.
What to Expect: She's back! The Evil Queen, freshly separated from Regina (both played by Lana Parrilla), will become Storybrooke's biggest problem, as the show refocuses on our favorite fairy tale town and its beloved denizens. Her arrival will confuse everyone, least of all half-sister Zelena. "I'm like, 'I've got a lot of work on my hands, dealing with two of you.' One, that's a lot, all right? But I've got a Regina and an Evil Queen! It's exhausting just thinking about what I've got coming ahead," Rebecca Mader told E! News at Comic-Con. Elsewhere, Mr. Hyde and the rest of residents of The Land of Untold Stories will try and make Storybrooke theirs, while a certain magic carpet-riding street urchin is poised to make an appearance. That's right—Aladdin's (Deniz Akdeniz) on the way!

Quantico (ABC)

When to Watch: Sunday, Sept. 25 at 10 p.m.
What to Expect: It's adios, FBI, and hello, CIA. With her name newly cleared, Alex (Priyanka Chopra) finds herself at "The Farm," the Central Intelligence Agency's mysterious training facility, learning to navigate the dark and dangerous world of espionage. She'll soon find herself pulled into the center of deadly conspiracy that not only threatens American citizens, but the lives of countless others around the globe. Look for plenty of familiar faces from the Bureau to play a role, as well as the arrival of plenty of fresh faces, including new series regulars Blair Underwood (as a CIA agent) and Russell Tovey (as a cross between Thomas Crown and the Artful Dodger).

Rosewood (Fox)

When to Watch: Thursday, Sept. 22 at 8 p.m.
What to Expect: Sexy triangles, according to Lorraine Toussant, who teased bit of a love conflict between Morris [Chestnut], Jaina [Lee Ortiz], and Eddie Cibrian's character. "That promises to be fun, especially because Eddie is now Jaina's boss. He's a real wildcard with a dark past." As for Donna herself, she's got a new man…and he's a convicted murderer!

Scorpion (CBS)

When to Watch: Monday, Oct. 3 at 9 p.m.
What to Expect: Where viewers last checked in with the Scorpion gang, Toby (Eddie Kaye Thomas) finally proposed to Happy (Jadyn Wong)...who was then forced to admit she is already married. On the other romantic Walter (Elyes Gabel) embarked on a trip to declare his feelings for Paige (Katharine McPhee), but she just so happened to be on a romantic getaway with Tim (Scott Porter). In the season premiere, Walter reaches Lake Tahoe and is pretty surprised by what he finds. Meanwhile, Team Scorpion must come together (despite the awkward romantic entanglements) to save the country. It's a race against time when hackers with unknown motives take control of military aircraft and war ships, and point America's weaponry back on its own cities.

Scream Queens (Fox)

When to Watch: Tuesday, Sept. 20 at 8 p.m.
What to Expect: A new setting and new characters! Set in a hospital owned by Munsch, John Stamos and Taylor Lautner join the cast as hot docs, joining returning stars Emma Roberts, Lea Michele, Keke Palmer and Jamie Lee Curtis, among others. With Curtis telling us season two will be even "darker," fun guest stars like Colton Haynes and Cecily Strong should hopefully help to lighten the mood.

Shameless (Showtime)

When to Watch: Sunday, Oct. 2 at 9 p.m.
What to Expect: Finally (finally!) Fiona (the sublime and perennially Emmy-snubbed Emmy Rossum) decides that she'll try to take care of herself for a change, which means her siblings will have to pick up the slack. And while Frank is still alive despite being dumped off a bridge while blindingly intoxicated, the Gallaghers refuse to take him back in—so he finds a replacement family.

Supergirl (The CW)

When to Watch: Monday, Oct. 10 at 8 p.m.
What to Expect: Supergirl's on the move! Just networks, not timeslots. Season 2 of Supergirl will air on The CW and in addition to the returning series regular cast (Calista Flockhart will recur) is Teen Wolf's Tyler Hoechlin as Superman, Sharon Leal as Miss Martian, Lynda Carter as the president and Chris Wood as Mon-El. And there will be crossovers. In addition to a massive one likely featuring all of The CW's DC Comics shows, there is going to be a musical crossover with The Flash. Plus, there's going to be a new hangout. Be on the lookout for a new dive bar where aliens gather, a safe haven. It's where J'onn J'onzz will meet Miss Martian for the first time.

Supernatural (The CW)

When to Watch: Thursday, Oct. 13 at 9 p.m.
What to Expect: Sam's been shot! But don't worry, Jared Padalecki isn't going anywhere anytime soon. Sam's alive, and you can bet he'll be very interested in learning about the woman, a member of the British Men of Letters, who did the shooting. Plus, Rick Springfield will appear as Lucifer, and we'll see the return of Sam and Dean's mother, Mary (Samantha Smith).

Superstore (NBC)

When to Watch: Thursday, Sept. 22 at 8 p.m.
What to Expect: Cloud 9 is in full strike mode when season two arrives, after the walk out that ended season one. "We pick up right where we left off, literally in the parking lot the moment that they walked out," America Ferrera teased. Ferrera also revealed that we'll get to learn more about Amy's marriage and home life, and watch her build her friendship with Jonah. "I don't know necessarily if there's romance in this season for them, or if there's romance at all, but we do definitely get to learn more, and this relationship grows."

The Vampire Diaries (The CW)

When to Watch: Friday, Oct. 21 at 9 p.m.
What to Expect: In the eighth and final—sniff!—season, we'll see the show focus on the core characters, the ones we met as Mystic Falls High students back in 2009. Co-creator Kevin Williamson is back to help close out the series, and there have already been talks for Nina Dobrev to return for the series finale. But before then, the gang will have to deal with the unspeakable evil that currently inhabits both Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Enzo (Michael Malarkey). You know, the usual.

The Walking Dead (AMC)

When to Watch: Sunday, Oct. 23 at 9 p.m.
What to Expect: We know that someone is dying and things will never be the same, now that Jeffrey Dean Morgan's Negan is now on the scene. "It's Negan's world now and we're all living in it," executive producer Gale Ann Hurd told E! News about the "ultimate villain." Of course, Negan isn't the only one shaking up our heroes' world. Get ready for the arrival of King Ezekial (Khary Payton), the leader of The Kingdom, and his pet tiger, Shiva. Yes, you read that right. Zombies, sadistic murderers, and a tiger—oh my!
