Gillian Jacobs' "Real Boi" Vines
The Community star mastered small screen comedy and is now bringing her skills to a smaller screen: Your iPhone. Gillian is an artist on Vine, with the Mona Lisa of her collection being the videos featuring her dog Mick, who recently decided he wants to get surgery to become a real boy (now available on Instagram Video too!)
"Tennis Court," by Lorde
She's a 16-year-old singer from New Zealand who broke into the music scene with her catchy tune "Royals" earlier this year. Her sound is sort of Lana Del Rey-ish, with vibes of fellow Indie darling Sky Ferreira. Her next EP, Tennis Court EP, drops next month. Sart listening now so you can say you liked her before she was big.
Dumb Ways to Die App
Everyone has seen this viral Metro commercial by now, which promotes safety by showcasing equally dumb ways to die (if you haven't, watch it and enjoy having the song stuck in your head forever). Now the lives of those critters are in your hands, as you navigate a series of addictive quests to keep them alive in this iPhone game.
Felicity Jones as Black Cat in Spider-Man
Shailene Woodley may be out of the Amazing Spider-Man sequel, but that second installment won't be lacking in kickass females. Our favorite Indie darling, Felicity Jones, has all but confirmed that she's making her big-budget, comic-book flick debut as Felicia Hardy, aka Spidey's sometimes love interest The Black Cat.
Emma Watson's Bling Ring Accent
Sofia Coppola's new movie is all about fame and the lengths some people will go to get it—or at least to dress like it. But the best part of the movie, hands down, is Emma's take on E!'s own Pretty Wild star Alexis Neier, especially the Vallery girl accent she uses while delivering lines such as, "I want to lead a country, for all I know."
Leo's Wolf of Wall Street Dance
The Wolf of Wall Street, the latest creative union between Leonardo DiCaprio and director Martin Scorsese, has a lot going for it: Matthew McConaughey, fresh off the Year of Matthew McConaughey. Jonah "I'm a Serious Actor" Hill. A monkey. And best of all: This dance by Leo, forever captured in GIF form.
Despicable Me 2 Soundtrack
The Despicable Me 2 soundtrack has proven ample fodder to hold us over while we anxiously await Gru and his minions' big return to return to the big screen. Pharrell composed music for the soundtrack and Cee-Lo Green kicks it all off with a swingin' original track, "Scream." Oh and the minions have a cover of "Y.M.C.A." too.
Patrick Schwarzenegger in a Jet Pack
It's no secret that Arnold Schwarzenegger's son Patrick could get it (he's legal! We checked! Feel free to ogle him yourself!). And while we prefer the shirtless pictures of him at the beach, these photos of him with an awesome water-powered jet packet on a recent trip to Monaco with his family are a close second.
The Zesty Guy
Meet Anderson Davis. He sells...salad or something. We don't care. As long as he keeps popping up during commercial breaks (For the record, he promotes Kraft Italian dressing. Thanks, Kraft!). The Zesty Guy's nearly naked ads sent conservative groups into a tizzy, but Kraft responded, "People have overwhelmingly said they're enjoying the campaign." Oh, we definitely enjoy them.
James Wolk in Everything
We've been following James Wolk since his days on the doomed Fox series Lone Star. But after guesting on Happy Endings and, most recently, an attention-grabbing stint on Mad Men (Who is Bob Benson...and where did he get those fabulous shorts?!), he's finally getting his due. Next up: The Crazy Ones with Sarah Michelle Gellar and Robin Williams.
This Notorious B.I.G.-Inspired Yearbook Quote
Jessica Lee's senior quote may look all lorem ipsum-y, but if you have a working knowledge of the Periodic Table of Elements: "(F) fluorine (U) uranium (C) carbon (K) potassium (Bi) bismuth (Tc) technetium (He) helium (S) sulfur (Ge) germanium (Tm) thulium (O) oxygen (Ne) neon (Y) yttrium." B.I.G. RIP.
iOS 7
Your iPhone just got a makeover (as well as your iPad and Mac and whatnot). Apple unveiled their newest software update, iOS 7, which provides your iPhone with a drastic new look: Clean, simple and very colorful. iOS 7 also offers new features like iTunes radio, multitasking and tons of other cool updates. It's expected this fall.
"I'm Out," by Ciara feat. Nicki Minaj
Ciara hasn't had a huge hit in a while now, but she's back. And she's bringing along a familiar face to guarantee some Top 40 success: The omnipresent queen of features, Nicki Minaj. On "I'm Out," Ms. Minaj may steal the show with her lyrical foreplay, but Ci-Ci keeps the momentum alive for one of our favorite songs of the summer.
Everything Is Perfect When You're a Liar
Writer Kelly Oxford built her retweet-happy fan base on Twitter, but is now swapping 140 characters for many, many more with her first book. Everything Is Perfect is collection of autobiographical essays on everything from being a child laborer at a German restaurant to discovering unknown substances at a strip club.
New Beyoncé Music
Ahhh! We're so excited that we've just been doing the "uh oh" booty pop over and over and over. Sure, Queen B already released one song ("Bow Down / I Been On") but that was just a hype track. And it worked. The BeyHive is officially riled up to see what this grown woman hits us with next.
Real Life Mermaids
Or, at least in one case, real life mermen. The Internet has been blowing up lately with real people who take to the sea (or at least a freshwater spring) to become mer-people. Our favorite? Florida's Eric Ducharme, whose obsession with being a merman is the subject of the latest episode of TLC's My Crazy Obsession.
Harry Styles' Dog
Internet, meet Conor. Conor meet the Internet. And, can we just say, you are the mostly adorable wittle puppy that we ever did see. Yes, you are! The One Direction boy bander instagrammed this picture alongside the caption, "Colin has a message." Uh, Harry, everyone loves cockapoos.
Game of Thrones Parody
College Humor wins the Internet—or at least the portion of the World Wide Web discussing Game of Thrones—with their latest parody cartoon that fulfills every wish fans of the HBO hit have. "It's your fantasy fantasy series," they explain. And yes, King Joffrey dies hard. Less boobs than we expected though...
Bradley Cooper's Perm
Actually, Bradley's curly locks (which are one part ramen noodles and one part Justin Timberlake *NSYNC 'do, baked until browned) are just the tip of the ice berg on director David O. Russell's next film. There's also Jennifer Lawrence with her blond bouffant. Oscars 2014? We think we've found a nominee for Best Hair.
"Live a Little," by Florrie
So maybe you've never heard of Brit songstress Florrie before. That's OK. Watch this video and you'll get a good taste of her vibe. Amazing, right? And we bet you didn't even know it was a commercial (it's for Sony headphones)! Her debut album packed full of (we assume) electro-pop fun is expected later this year.
Scott Foley on Scandal
Noel Crane! How evil you have become since your Felicity days. Foley plays Jake Ballard, a Navy dude who apparently has a lot of secrets. And is super, duper, duper creepy. How so? Oh, well, he has Olivia Pope's (Kerry Washington) entire apartment rigged with cameras. And he only seems to be getting creepier.
Tom Hardy, Always
Animal Rescue might be Tom's best work yet. And no, we're not talking about the actual movie (we haven't seen that yet, we're sure it's great) but about the brilliant pictures he has racked up on set. How do you top a cuddly puppy? With a mini me Bane. That's how. Now, how do you top a mini Bane?
Mally the Monkey
Justin Bieber's beloved monkey that was seized by German customs is quite possibly the most adorable contraband primate that previously belonged to a pop star that we ever did see. And if Biebs doesn't want him back, we'll take him. We've seen those Friends episodes where Ross had Marcel. We know what's up.
This Is 40 DVD
We loved the Judd Apatow comedy romp the first time around, so we're more than happy to watch Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann navigate their kooky (and a bit too-close-to-home-for-comfort) marital problems all over again. But with an added bonus: Tons of deleted scenes that were too risqué for theaters. And bloopers! Don't forget about the bloopers!
