From The Daily Show to the 2023 Grammy Awards!
Two months after his departure from the political talk show, Trevor Noah took on the emceeing duties for music's biggest night. Hosting the star-studded event for the third consecutive year, the comedian opened the Feb. 5 festivities—held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles—with yet another hilarious monologue that shouted out many of this year's nominees, including Taylor Swift, Adele and Lizzo.
But when he got to Harry Styles, who is nominated for six awards, Trevor couldn't help but to unleash his inner fanboy.
"What can you say about this man that hasn't been said?" he began, before referencing Harry's gender-bending style. "Women throw their panties at this man, and then he puts them on and he looks better in them than they do!"
Calling the Harry's House singer "easily the world's sexiest man," Trevor went on to rave that Harry faces "no competition" for the title.
"Sex symbol of the globe, especially now that they killed off the Green M&M," Trevor quipped, referencing how to candy brand recently replaced its signature spokescandies with Maya Rudolph.
Jokes aside, the competition is stiff at this year's Grammy Awards. While Beyoncé leads the pack of nominees with nine nods, including Album of the Year for Renaissance and Record of the Year for "Break My Soul," Kendrick Lamar isn't far behind with eight of his own. Meanwhile, Adele and Brandi Carlile are coming into the show with seven nominations each.
Though the word's still out on who will be named the night's big winner, it's certain that Trevor is bound to have a good time. After all, as the 38-year-old previously noted, "I'm a fan of almost all the people who are there."
"I am 1,000% a fan, and what I love about the Grammys is that I become a fan of a new artist every single time," he told Billboard back in December. "What many people don't realize is how much work goes into the performances. Getting every single key right, every lighting cue perfect, choreographing all the moves between the cameras and the artists. You don't truly appreciate it until you get behind the scenes, and I think that's what makes me enjoy the show even more."
In fact, Trevor actually enjoys the rush of a live show, likening it to "juggling flaming swords."
"Just putting it all together, combining different genres, getting the musicians in sync with each other and the audience, keeping the audience in tune with what's happening," he added. "One of my favorite things about the Grammys as a whole is it is one of the few places where you get to experience artists in their rawest element, which is performing their music live."
Prior to Trevor's monologue, a few Grammy awards were handed out off-camera. To see who took home a trophy, keep scrolling.
