Ice-T's life got a reboot thanks to his little girl.
The Law & Order: Special Victims Unit star, 65, credits his and wife Coco Austin's daughter Chanel, 7, with motivating him to embrace a healthier lifestyle.
"Muhammad Ali said it, he said when a man has a child in the second half of his life, it resets his life," the host of iHeart podcast Ice-T's Daily Game told E! News' Francesca Amiker on March 23. "When Chanel was born, all of a sudden I got more healthy, I'm in shape. Because you can start to slow down—I can't start to slow down."
The rapper, who is also dad to daughter LeTesha Morrow, 47, and Tracy Marrow Jr., 31, from previous relationships, continued, "I've got grown kids. Now I've got a new daughter and I'm so focused with her. It's just amazing. It's a great thing. And you've gotta have a reason for living, you've gotta have motivation. Chanel is my new motivation."
Growing up in the public eye, Ice-T and Coco's daughter has over the years also become a social media star in her own right, with more than 446,000 followers on Instagram.
And even through her mom has run her account since she was born, Chanel has begun to express herself online more. On Ice-T's birthday in February, a throwback photo of the three was shared on the child's page, along with the message, "Happy Birthday to my daddy for everything l love you so much. Thank you for being you..(Chanel actually wrote this herself)"
While they continue to dote upon their little girl, Ice-T and Coco do not plan on expanding their family. "Chanel fills up the room," he said. "One and done."
