For Taylor Swift, it’s nice to have a friend in Dave Portnoy.

In fact, the Grammy winner is so grateful for the self-proclaimed “King of the Swifties” that she gave the Barstool Sports creator a special gift in the form of a handwritten note when he attended her Oct. 19 Eras Tour stop in Miami.

“Dave,” Taylor’s note begins, as seen in a post shared to the BFFs podcast Instagram account, “I’m so happy to have you at the show tonight! I wanted to say thank you for always being so supportive, so loyal, and for having my back when a lot of people didn’t.”

She continued, “I hope you have a blast tonight!! Love, Taylor.”

And in his own video recap of the concert, Dave—who in addition to expressing his love for Taylor’s music has also been a vocal supporter of her amid her feud with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West—detailed the special moments he shared with Taylor’s brother Austin Swift and her mother Andrea Swift.

“I did get in the VIP section, which was amazing,” Dave shared in his Oct. 20 post, adding as he held up the note to the camera, “This letter Austin Swift hand delivered to me in the VIP section from Taylor.”

He continued, “Austin's like, ‘Hey, my mom wants to meet you.’ We had a real hug, like almost teary, and her being like, ‘We've obviously followed you for years, and you sort of get the nuances, and we just appreciate the support.’”

Because after all, as Dave noted in his video, “Swifties are all about love, and support, and Taylor.”

And it’s clear the evening in Miami—the second Eras Tour concert Dave has attended—is not one that will be easily forgotten.

In addition to calling it an “incredible night” in his caption, Dave added in his recap video, “I had the time of my life, and I can’t get over how unbelievable Taylor is, performing three and a half hours day after day—flawless, perfect.”

But while the Eras Tour—which began over a year ago in March 2023—is approaching its final show date on Dec. 8, Taylor has expressed her love for the shows in which she’s put in so much of her time and effort.

In addition to calling the tour the “most wondrous experience” in a recent Instagram post, when announcing the impending end of the Eras Tour in June, Taylor reflected on how she’s happily let the show consume her every day.

“This tour has really become my entire life,” she said onstage in Liverpool. “It’s taken over everything.”

As she joked, “I think I once had hobbies, but I don’t know what they were anymore, because all I do when I’m not onstage is sit at home, try to think of clever acoustic song mashups, and think about what you might want to hear and when I’m not on the stage, I’m dreaming about being back on the stage with you guys.”

And for many of the celebrities who have enjoyed the Eras Tour in person, keep reading.
