They’re fast on their feet, they’re wildly enthusiastic, and they have the ability to quickly get over the many problems and upsets that come with building any business. They’ve done a whopping $900 million in sales!

DL: This is kind of like when people ask me to choose my favorite KIND bar. How can I choose my favorite child?! Every company, entrepreneur, and product brings something different to the table and I’m proud not only of their many successes, but also their willingness to keep learning from the challenges along the way.
E!: Which product(s) featured on Shark Tank do you regret passing on?
DL: For me, one of the most memorable “deals that got away” was the Blueland eco-friendly cleaning products. I was a new Shark at the time and had made a big bet, offering $1 million for a 25 percent stake in the company with Lori as my partner.
Ultimately, the entrepreneurs, Sarah and Syed, weren’t looking to give up that much equity, and we lost out to Mr. Wonderful. I realized pretty quickly I had a lot to learn about testing the waters before diving in with both feet first.
E!: What is the most useful holiday gift you’ve ever received?
DL: It’s super nerdy, but I can’t live without my ThinOptics reading glasses that stick onto the back of my phone in a little case.
