Watch: Olivia Rodrigo Shares She Went to the Hospital After “Scary” Onstage Fall

Olivia Rodrigo is having a little déjà vu.

The “vampire” singer recently reflected on the moment when she fell through the stage in Melbourne, Australia during her GUTS World Tour.

“It was really scary,” the 21-year-old said during an Oct. 29 interview on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. “I mean watching the video back it’s pretty terrifying, but the show must go on, that’s show business baby.”

Remaining optimistic about the accident, Olivia said the fall was “a beautiful thing” after her brief trip to the hospital had a silver lining.

“I’m kinda happy it happened in hindsight,” she noted. “I had just been to the Philippines, and I was thinking about my family, my heritage and relatives and I fell. And I was all shaken up.”

She continued, “I went to the hospital after—nothing happened they just wanted to make sure I didn’t have a concussion—and randomly the nurse was a Filipino man with the same name as my grandpa who just passed away a few months ago. So, I was like, ‘Wow that was him looking after me and making sure I didn’t get hurt.’ And so I was really happy it happened, I think it was beautiful.”

The Disney Channel alum was performing in Melbourne, Australia on Oct.14 and running across the stage when she fell into a hole left open in the middle of the stage.

“Oh my God, that was fun,” she said sarcastically after the incident before adding, “I’m okay!”

As she jumped out of the hole, she added, “Sometimes there’s just a hole in the stage. That’s alright.”

Olivia’s time in Australia marked the end of her tour for the remainder of the year. And 95 shows later, Olivia reflected on the best moments of her time onstage.

“I just played my biggest show in the Philippines,” Olivia told E! News on Oct. 25 at the premiere of her Olivia Rodrigo: GUTS World Tour concert film. “I’m of Filipino heritage and I’ve never been able to go, that was such a special moment in my career but also to me as an individual, it meant so much to be accepted by that community.”
