Hoda Kotb's day-to-day is about to change big time in the best way possible.
Over a month after the longtime Today co-anchor announced she's leaving the NBC morning show, the journalist revealed how she plans to spend her newly free mornings with daughters Haley, 7, and Hope, 5, when she doesn't have to wake up at 3 a.m. every weekday for the first time in nearly 17 years.
"I've found out, in my town, there's a 5:30 Soul Cycle class which I'm going to start," Hoda—who shares her kids with ex Joel Schiffman—exclusively told E! News guest correspondent Daryn Carp at her Making Space wellness event at the Miraval Austin Resort and Spa in Texas Oct. 25. "Then I'm going to go back and feed my kids breakfast and I am going to make a coffee to go in my Yeti."
As she continued, "I'm going to walk my kids down the beautiful streets to their school and I'm going to kiss them goodbye."
The 60-year-old also plans to focus more effort on her podcast Making Space With Hoda Kotb in addition to reconnecting with family and friends.
"I'm going to do work in my wellness space because I've got a lot of stuff coming," Hoda added. "I'm going to be working for a few hours. I'm going to have a lunch with friends who I have not had a chance to eat lunch with in forever. Real conversations."
But after some light work and mingling, it's back to after-school family time for the TV personality.
"I'm going to take them to wherever they want to go," she noted of Haley and Hope. "I'm going to bring them home later. I'm going to fire up the BBQ. I don't care what the temperature is, I love everything barbecued. I'm going to make burgers and salmon."
While all those changes will come in January, when Hoda signs off on her regular shifts for the last time, she's still trying to mentally adjust to what will become her new normal after nearly two decades on morning TV.
"I've been thinking about this day," she admitted, "because of me, I need a mini-plan, because I've had such structure for so many years. I'm a structure person. So I want to have my own little structure that is full of freedom and the ability to take walks and do things. I'm so excited for it."
And while Today fans will surely miss Hoda every morning, she knew now is the time to put family first.
"I get one ride, that's it," she explained. "You only got one life, right? You're the chooser."
