Watch: Gwen Stefani Credits Blake Shelton with Giving Her "Second Chance at Life"

Gwen Stefani created a place as her own world, and she’s Blake Shelton’s favorite girl.

Indeed, “The Sweet Escape” singer recently detailed how her relationship with her current husband felt like a rebirth after her divorce from Gavin Rossdale, to whom she was married for 12 years.

“Meeting my husband felt like a second chance at life,” Gwen—who shares kids Kingston, 18, Zuma, 16, and Apollo, 10 with her ex—explained to the Guardian in an article published Nov. 14. “Because when my family fell apart, it felt like a catastrophe. How do you pick yourself up from that? But God put this other person there to love me.”

And Gwen even noted that her newest album, Bouquet out Nov. 15, is inspired by the relationship she grew with Blake from that initial bud.

“I know this sounds weird, but Blake and I came together in gardening,” she explained. “We have a house together in Oklahoma and during the pandemic we came across this very old building on the land and there were some purple irises, which someone must have planted centuries ago, but they’ve survived.”

She continued, adding of her duet on the LP with the country music singer, “I wrote the song ‘Purple Irises’ about that and how it feels to find true love and the insecurities of not wanting to lose it.”

Gwen’s recent praise of her relationship with Blake—whom she married in 2021 after six years of dating—is only the latest of the couple’s sweet moments. In fact, Blake—who has previously been married to Miranda Lambert and Kaynette Gern—has compared the couple’s relationship to that of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s for both couple’s willingness to be public about their romances.

“That’s what Gwen and I did,” Blake explained on a September episode of The Pat McAffee Show. “It’s like, ‘Look, I’m dating Gwen Stefani. I want the f--kin' world to know that.’”

Blake—who met Gwen while they were judging The Voice together in 2015—has certainly practiced what he preached, often gushing over the No Doubt alum on social media.

As he wrote in her birthday shoutout last year, Gwen is his “favorite all time person ever born in any time period in the history of mankind!!!!!”

Let the Rumors Begin

"I think he's hot, don't you? But to be super honest, it is kind of crazy we both went through the same thing at the same time. There's been so many people that I've gotten so much comfort from. Not confiding, but sharing, which has just helped me see things from a different perspective and move forward." —Gwen to Ryan Seacrest in November 2015
