Jake Paul delivered knockout tributes to legendary boxer Mike Tyson after beating him in the ring.
Following their boxing match, which streamed live from AT&T Stadium—home of the Dallas Cowboys—in Arlington, Texas on Netflix Nov. 15, the YouTuber-turned-prizefighter spoke out on social media about his victory over the 58-year-old former heavyweight champion after he was defended by a slew of fans, including Piers Morgan.
"Prime @MikeTyson would have destroyed @jakepaul in 90 seconds," the TV host wrote on X. "A 58yr-old Tyson went 8 rounds against a much fitter and very capable boxer half his age. Mock him all you like, but Mike’s got the heart of a lion, balls of steel, and will always be an absolute legend."
Paul responded, "Who mocked him? He’s a f--king beast. All respect to the Baddest Ever. It was an honor to share the ring with him @MikeTyson."
Tyson, who last competed in a pro boxing match in 2005, losing to Kevin McBride, and in an exhibition match in 2020, in which he tied with opponent Roy Jones Jr., shared a message of personal reflection the day after the match, which took place months after he suffered a health emergency.
"This is one of those situations when you lost but still won," he tweeted. "I’m grateful for last night. No regrets to get in ring one last time. I almost died in June. Had 8 blood transfusions. Lost half my blood and 25lbs in hospital and had to fight to get healthy to fight so I won."
He added, "To have my children see me stand toe to toe and finish 8 rounds with a talented fighter half my age in front of a packed Dallas Cowboy stadium is an experience that no man has the right to ask for. Thank you."
Tyson had said in a post-match interview on the livestream that he was "happy" with his performance in the ring against Paul.
"I didn't prove nothing to anybody, only to myself," he said. "I'm not one of those guys that lives to please the world. I'm just happy with what I can do."
The athlete, who wore a knee brace during the match, admitted to fighting through a leg injury.
"Yeah, but I can't use that as an excuse," he said. "If I did, I wouldn't be in here."

Tyson is not ruling out a return to the boxing ring. "I don't know," he said. "It depends on the situation."
Asked who he could fight next, he said, "Maybe his brother," referring to Logan Paul.
The influencer retorted, "I’ll kill you Mike," drawing a smile from the boxer.
Tyson, who infamously bit the ear of opponent Evander Holyfield during a world title fight in 1997, was often seen biting down on his left boxing glove during the eight-round heavyweight match.
“I have a habit of biting my gloves when I fight, yes," Tyson later said during the livestream, "Um, I have a biting fixation."
