Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie’s kids are well-versed in their history.
As the world awaits the return of the reality TV duo on Paris & Nicole: The Encore in December, they revealed that it was their children’s reaction to The Simple Life that inspired their return to TV.
“My kids have definitely seen it,” Nicole who shares children Harlow, 16, and Sparrow, 15, with husband Joel Madden told E! News during Vulture’s annual pop-culture extravaganza, Vulture Festival Nov. 17. “They were a part of me doing this reunion. They watch it. Their friends watch it. It's having a moment on TikTok, and it's been very sweet having them watch it.”
And though Paris’ children Phoenix, 22-months, and London, 12-months, whom she shares with husband Carter Reum, are young, they still enjoy watching their mom and their auntie on-screen.
“I watch it all the time,” Paris added. “I always have, it’s my favorite show. My husband loves it, and my kids love it. My little son laughs with me when we watch it, it’s really sweet and he just perfected ‘Sanasa’ – he knows our song! So that’s pretty amazing.”
London may be too little to give her reaction to the series, but she’s no doubt sliving for her auntie Nicole.
“It was really special to introduce Nicole to my baby, London, the first time,” Paris said of her daughter and Nicole’s initial meeting while filming their new series. “A really emotional moment for me.”
Nicole added, “She loves me.”
Almost two decades after the end of The Simple Life in 2007, Paris and Nicole have rekindled their friendship and are taking fans—old and new—inside their lives as they explore another iconic chapter together with Paris & Nicole: The Encore.
While minimal details have been released, Paris dished about returning to the small screen with her bestie.
"I'm so excited to be doing this with Nicole on Peacock," she told E! News in June, noting that the streaming service is also home to her series Paris in Love. "Nicole has been my best friend since we're 2 years old, every memory that I have is with her."
"Simple Life is such a special show," she continued. “and this is just going to be so iconic and I can't wait for fans to see."
Peacock’s original series Paris & Nicole: The Encore premieres Dec. 12.
