Natalia Grace's story isn't over.
A teaser for The Curious Case of Natalia Grace: The Final Chapter has arrived, and it hints at a major plot twist being explored in the conclusion of the Ukrainian orphan's saga.
After Natalia—who has spondyloepiphyseal dysplasia congenita, a rare form of dwarfism—was accused of lying about her age and attempting to murder her adoptive parents Michael Barnett and Kristine Barnett, she seemingly found a happy ending as the adopted child of couple Antwon Mans and Cynthia Mans.
However, in the series' teaser clip, her new family—who adopted her in 2013, shortly after she was allegedly abandoned by the Barnetts in a Lafayette, Indiana, apartment—also said that Natalia was exhibiting troubling behavior due to a connection she formed with an unnamed person on the internet.
"Something ain't right with Natalia," Antwon told producers in the trailer. "She got this dude online. He turned her against us. She's ready to go to hell with gasoline panties on."
E! News reached out to a rep for Natalia for comment on the allegation but has not heard back.
And their accusations will come to a head in the show, which airs on ID in January 2025. In fact, The Final Chapter is set to document a, as ID put it in a Nov. 25 press release, "dramatic rescue mission" that ensues due to the "new allegations of abuse" against her.
"The Final Chapter offers a conclusion to Natalia’s story as she strives for healing," the release continued, "and resolution in her tumultuous journey filled with decades of unexpected twists and turns."
Natalia's challenges with the Manses follow years of strife with her previous adopted parents Michael and Kristine, who adopted her in 2010 and said they believed she was 6 years old at the time. The couple eventually grew suspicious that she was not a child and filed a petition in court in 2012 to legally change her birth year from 2003 to 1989. The following year, the pair moved to Canada with their three sons and left Natalia in the United States.
Six years later, Michael and Kristine—who divorced in 2018—were each charged with neglect in connection to their Canada move. Michael was found not guilty in 2022, though he has since offered a tearful apology to his estranged daughter, which she accepted.
"I forgive you," she told him in The Curious Case of Natalia Grace: Natalia Speaks, to which Michael replied, "You don't have to."
As for Kristine, prosecutors dropped their case against the matriarch in March 2023. Since then, she has continued to deny any mistreatment or abandonment towards Natalia.
"She was not abused by anyone in my family," Kristine wrote on Facebook in January. "Any discipline of Natalia was very minimal and was not out of the bounds of normal parenting. If anything it was overly permissive as we all felt a tremendous amount of sympathy for Natalia and loved her while she lived with us."
