The real estate industry is so finance-driven that it brushes aside building quality products that will improve neighborhoods and grow cities. Projects are often undertaken to earn a hefty profit, sometimes with significant risk-taking.

Real estate developer, contractor, and entrepreneur Gary Mkrtichyan and his company Opus Builders have successfully addressed various shortfalls by implementing architectural design features into their projects to propel them to the top of their industry.

Seeing the Potential in Different Locations

Mkrtichyan is unafraid to take risks or use strategy and creativity to visualize and plan. These attributes inspired him to start Opus Builders. Mkrtichyan and his company see thriving communities where others might only see land. He built his reputation as an emerging Los Angeles real estate influencer in Eagle Rock, California.

Today, the community stands out as a thriving region targeted by eager potential homeowners. That said, Mkrtichyan realized its possibilities before anyone else. He loved the backdrop and believed proper development would yield weighty results.

“My tolerance for risk and ability to identify potential in projects others would pass on sets Opus Builders apart from the industry. Our relentless pursuit to build the best quality produce is unmatchable,” he said.

However, Mkrtichyan simplifies his success by using ingenuity, strategy, knowledge, and experience to design and build what he imagines.

The Opus Expansion

Mkrtichyan’s proven track record of success in the housing market inspired him to expand his company. The recent establishment of Opus Hospitality hopes to offer unique dining and lodging experiences. Mkrtichyan has been fortunate enough to travel across the world. This introduced him to numerous hospitality offerings lacking on the domestic front and offering the potential for significant growth.

Adding to its list of restaurant and private club projects in Los Angeles, Opus Hospitality plans on building a 90-unit boutique hotel geared to offer travelers and residents a setting to get away from their regular lives and relax like they are on vacation.

Creating a Collaborative Atmosphere

Mkrtichyan’s success has created a solid working relationship between his businesses. Each entity complements the others and demonstrates a commitment to work together to attain specific goals. This harmony has garnered the attention of potential investors.

“I have been blessed with investors who have trusted me to deliver for them, and we have done that every time,” he said. “We plan to grow this investor pool in the coming years.”

Plans for the Future

In a short time, Mkrtichyan’s work has resulted in him being featured in renowned publications like Architectural Digest and Forbes, designing and constructing celebrity and other high-end homes, and erecting a 150-student school. This 31-year-old real estate magnate yearns to expand both Opus Builders and Opus Hospitality as time progresses.

Gary Mkrtichyan’s most pressing plan is to complete the Glendale, Calif., boutique hotel. Once finished, this destination is intended to bring the cultural influence of Los Angeles' western section to a more suburban location. He continues to enhance the landscape of Los Angeles through his innovative real estate and hospitality goals.
